“Sarah, get back here!” Lady Gaia ran through the corridors.
Screaming with joy, the little Sarah ran past the crystal halls. Suddenly someone stood before her. “Aunty Ignis!” Sarah smiled.
“Hey Sparks, are you giving your mother a hard time again?” She lifted the small 5 year old. “You know you should listen to your mommy.”
Lady Gaia panted when she finally reached Sarah and Lady Ignis. “When did she became this fast?”
“Must be all that healthy food you have been giving her.” She gave the child with pigtails to her ‘mother’. “The kid turned into one big vitamin energy bomb.”
“Have Kim, Luna and Aqua already returned?” Lady Gaia asked.
Lady Ignis shook her head. “Where did they go?” Sarah asked.
“Nothing important sweetie.” Lady Gaia had to come up with something.
“Are they out getting me presents?” Sarah asked eagerly.
Lady Gaia’s eyes widened open. She looked at her sister who appeared to be shocked as well. “Was it today?!” Lady Ignis whispered.
Lady Gaia looked at the wondering Sarah. “I bet they are. Why don’t you go and play a while.”
“But I have to take a bath!” Sarah got confused.
Lady Gaia smiled. “I’ll be there in a minute, okay? I need to say something to Aunt Ignis for a moment.”
And while Sarah dashed off, Lady Gaia smiled. “She grows up so fast.” She said. “I just know she’ll grow up to be a beautiful woman.”
“Yeah…” Lady Ignis sighed agreeing. “But her birthday is today?! I completely forgot about it!”
“You are not the only one.” Lady Gaia replied. “Things have been so hectic lately. No one could expect He would find it so easily.”
“Not only that.” Lady Ignis added. “I never expected He would look up Endorah again!”
“He’s up to something.” Lady Gaia heard the little Sarah calling for her. “I’m coming! Why does He want to be part of the NightWing?”
Lady Ignis shrugged. “Maybe He thinks they can help Him look.”
“Or giving Him more power.” Lady Ignis looked doubting. “Nah, He can’t get their powers. They are not match able. Only one power is.” Suddenly she screamed. “Waaah! All this thinking freaks me out! As long as He won’t find it, the balance should stay in balance.”
Lady Gaia then went to Sarah. She helped her undressing. “Do you think I’ll get a new friend?” Sarah asked. “Or a new toy?” But Lady Gaia didn’t reply. “Something wrong mommy?”
Lady Gaia shook up from her thoughts. What a bright young kid this was. And so beautiful. “Don’t worry little one, everything shall turn out fine.”
In the kitchen, Lady Ignis used her magic to get everything she needed. Then she looked in a book. “Mm, if Gaia can do this, it shouldn’t be that hard. First some flower…” The flower poured itself in a bowl. “Then a few eggs…Where are the eggs?” And Lady Ignis went off to find some eggs, while the flower was still pouring itself in and over the bowl.
A while later Lady Gaia brushed Sarah’s hair. She tied it into 2 long pigtails. “Which dress shall I wear mommy?”
“How about the white one?” Lady Gaia suggested.
“When will Aunt Kim and the others return?” Sarah asked. “Will they miss my birthday?”
“Don’t worry about that.” Lady Gaia helped her in the dress and tightened her up. Then she heard a mental call. “Ah, they are back.”
Sarah ran out of the room. “Aunty Kim!” She threw herself in her arms.
“Whoa, Sarah!” Lady Kim was surprised by this sudden force. “Don’t you look pretty?”
Sarah giggled and bowed like only a lady would do. “Hey little lady, don’t you have a hug for your other aunts?” Lady Aqua asked.
Sarah greeted the other sisters as well. “What did you bring me?” Sarah asked impatient.
Lady Luna’s eyes grew. ‘It was today?!’ She mentally asked Lady Gaia. She saw her nodding.
Lady Kim took the little Sarah. “Sarah, would you excuse us for a moment? We have to talk about something really important.”
“Okay.” Sarah nodded and left.
“Where is Ignis?” Lady Kim asked.
They heard moans from the kitchen. They ran in, when they saw so much mess! “Cake… is in the oven…” Lady Ignis sighed. “So, how did it go?”
Lady Kim folded her arms. “We hid it once again.” She sighed. “On a place He won’t find it easily.”
“And if He does, we gave it a guard.” Lady Aqua added. “But it’s getting dangerous.”
“We need to find protectors if He finds it.” Lady Luna said. “But how? How can we find Chosen Ones in the big Universe?”
Lady Kim looked thinking. “I might have an idea…’
“What?” Lady Gaia asked.
“Something I came up with when I was still Nova…”
Lady Ignis broke the silence. “Good, since that is take care off, we got a bigger crisis on our hands! We forgot Sarah’s birthday!”
A few hours later Sarah unpacked her presents. “A doll!” She happily exclaimed. “Can she make sounds?”
“Try it.” Lady Aqua smiled. Sarah pushed a button. The cheeks lit up for a moment, but faded soon.
“You gave her a doll with dead batteries?!” Lady Ignis bellowed.
Sarah studied the doll. “I didn’t know the batteries were dead! At least I didn’t give her a…’
“Mama…”
All stared at Sarah. The doll had spoken! “It works fine now!” She smiled. “Thank you Aunt Aqua!”
“You… You’re welcome…” Lady Aqua gasped. ‘Did you feel that?’ She asked mentally.
’Did Sarah use Magic?!’
“Impossible!” Lady Ignis took her Pocket Game Console. “Here Sarah, why won’t you play on this?”
Sarah took the Game Console and wanted to play, but the screen stayed black. Then her hands started to glow and the screen popped on. “Did you just see that?” Lady Gaia gasped. “Amazing!”
“What I consider more amazing…” Lady Ignis started. “Is that there are NO BATTERIES in that thing!”
Lady Gaia smiled. “I knew she was special.”
“Did you also know she was a Gifted One?” Lady Luna asked. “Hey Kim, you select our Chosen Ones on strength; shouldn’t we select them on magic as well?”
Lady Kim looked up. “You suggest looking our Chosen Ones among Gifted Ones?”
Lady Luna nodded. Lady Aqua looked doubting. “But there are only few planets with Gifted Ones…” She said.
Lady Luna nodded again. “And you know which planet has the strongest Gifted Ones… Earth.”
