The doors of the MC slammed open. "I need a doctor!" Derak yelled and laid Moka on the nearest bed he saw.

A nurse ran at him. "What happened?" She asked. "Calm down!" She tried to calm Derak down.

"He's sick." Derak could only say, while taking of his sunglasses. Would they believe it if he told them Dream Fairies attacked his best friend?

A young doctor burst in. "He has a high fever." He concluded. "And he's pretty weak too. Why on Serenay Moon did you move him?!"

Shocked, Derak stepped back. "I... I..."

"Why didn't you call an Ambulance?" The doctor accused Derak. "You probably made his condition worse, moving him trough the cold weather!"

Derak dropped his sunglasses and looked fearful at Moka's pale face. He heard the Doctor yelling something, but he couldn't understand the words. Derak turned around and ran into the waiting room. The world was spinning before his eyes and Derak crashed down on a chair.

Suddenly he felt a warm hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw a nurse. "Don't worry." She smiled friendly. "I'm sure your friend will be fine." She handed Derak his sunglasses. "You must forgive Doctor Daniels. He might be the best doctor we have, but he can be really high strung." The nurse stood up again. "Do you want me to get you something? Would you like some water?" She asked friendly. Derak shook his head. "Is there someone you should call? His parents maybe?"

Derak looked down. "He has no parents." He softly whispered. The nurse's sweet face became sad and she apologised. "I should call them." Not knowing what Derak mend, the nurse saw Derak standing up and walking to the phone.

In the mean while, somewhere in town, Tsukiyo walked through a room. "Where could he have gone?" She whispered in herself.

Yuugao followed her big sister's example. "That green haired guy was gone too." She replied. "Maybe he moved him."

Tsukiyo turned around. "Possible, but it would be a stupid act." Tsukiyo sat down, but there was no chair! But instead of falling, Tsukiyo managed to stay floating in the air. She crossed her legs. "You took a lot of his dream energy Yuugao; moving him would make him only weaker. And the fact that he was sick would make it even worse!"

Yuugao sat down also. "Drats!" She cursed. "That would mean he will die, but not because of our hands!" She saw Tsukiyo nodding. "Or do you think he'll make it?"

Tsukiyo looked up. "That is a possibility also." She replied. "He has the Guardians on his side." She stood up again and walked through the room. "And he has powerful friends."

"If we could only get rid of his friends..."Yuugao lay back.

Tsukiyo's face lit up. "That's it, sister!" She smiled. "If we want to get close to Moka, we should first get rid of his friends!"

"But our promise!" Yuugao jumped up. "We promised...."

Tsukiyo raised her hand. "I know. But we don't have to kill them to get rid of them." Yuugao looked at her with big questioning eyes. "All we have to do... is to shake their confidence. If they don't trust themselves, they are weaklings!"

And while Tsukiyo explained her plan, Yuugao gazed at her with admirable eyes. 'I can only dream to become as smart as she is', she thought.

Mika ran into the MC. "Derak?" She yelled panicking and when she spotted him, she flew into his arms. "Thank you so much!" She whispered.

Worried, Zach, Kitt and Lady Luna followed. A few people looked curious at Lady Luna. Her beauty was enchanting; they had never seen someone so pretty as she was. Her hair was whiter than white and her aquacolored eyes were piercing. They had never seen her before, this young woman in the strange dress.

Derak spotted Lady Luna also. "Lady Luna?" He gasped. "But I thought...?"

Lady Luna lay her finger on his lips. "I don't care about the rules. How is Moka?"

Derak turned his face away, telling them he didn't knew it. Kitt saw how Derak was feeling and walked at him. "Don't worry." She smiled. "He'll be fine."

"But I..." He started, but then saw the Doctor coming.

The doctor's face stood firm and looked so strict. Derak didn't dare to look into his eyes, afraid of what he might say. Mika took his hand and smiled friendly at Derak. "He's going to be fine." The doctor started. "He's weak, but I'm positive he'll make it."

Lady Luna stepped forward. "His brain." She asked. "Was there little brain activity left?"

The doctor was startled when he saw the face of the Air Guardian. "I... ehm..." His firm face was gone. "Yes, there was little left, but it's almost back at his normal rate."

Lady Luna sighed. "Thank the stars." She whispered.

"Can we see him?" Zach asked.

The doctor looked at Zach. "He's still asleep, but one can visit him." He looked at Derak.

Derak knew what the doctor mend, but he simply couldn't face him already. "You go Mika." He said and let go of Mika's hand.

Mika looked at Derak. "But... you..." She started.

Derak turned around. "You can go." And he walked away.

Lady Luna saw Derak vanishing from the MC. "I've got to go." She said to Zach and Kitt. "I've got to talk to my sisters."

Zach and Kitt nodded and Lady Luna walked away from the Medical Centre too. Kitt then spotted Mika. "Go on." She smiled. "Go visit him." Mika smiled and followed the doctor.

Kitt then looked back to the place where Derak turned around the corridor. "What are you thinking?" Zach asked.

"I think he knows..." Kitt mumbled.

"Knows what?" Zach liked to know.

Kitt smiled at Zach. "Nothing we already didn't know." Was the answer.

Derak sat in a small park and threw some pebbles in the small pond. His sunglasses prevented anyone from seeing his eyes, which was fine with him. Too all he always seemed cool, but his sunglasses kept anyone from seeing the feelings in his eyes.

Behind him, a small softpink skinned girl raised her hand. She opened it and Yuugao blew at it. Sparkling dust escaped from her hand. "Sleep tight." Yuugao smiled. "And give my sister something nice to work with."

Derak felt his eyes getting heavier. "I'm so tired." He said. "Maybe I should go home." He stood up and tried to stand, but his legs were too heavy. "Dang, this is not normal!" Quickly he turned around and spotted the softgreen haired Dream Fairy. "You!" He started, but then the spell took over his mind and body....

Derak opened his eyes. Around him he spotted some bushes. "I thought I saw Yuugao..." He mumbled, but now, the bushes were empty. "I'd better go home." Derak stood up and left the park. His heart skipped a beat.

"Im... Impossible!" He yelled when he saw the houses before him. "How could I... how can I be... home?"

Derak walked through the town. "This is a dream!" He concluded. "It has to be!" He turned around, but it all felt so real! "I'm on Serenay Moon, not Earth!"

He then saw 2 women talking. They were far away, but he could easily hear them. "It has been about12 years by now." He heard one say. "I was so lucky that day! My house only had a few cracks in it."

The other woman nodded. "Our shed in the backyard completely collapsed, but besides that, we were fine."

"We have to be thankful nothing happened to us." The first woman said. "Others weren't that lucky."

"Especially the Green family." The second one said. "That poor woman!"

Derak felt as someone stabbed him in his heart. The Green family...? "You know what I heard?" The first woman said again. "I heard that her eldest was a gifted one!"

The second woman gasped. "My goodness!" She explained. "That young boy?"

"Yes, I'm not kidding!" The woman replied. "I heard he had the powers over the earth."

The woman thought. "But if he controls the earth... he could have easily predicted the earthquake. Unless...."

The first woman folded her arms. "Yes, that's what I heard. I heard he CAUSED the earthquake!"

Derak couldn't take it any more. He turned around and ran away. The words kept coming back in his head. "He caused that earthquake." He heard the woman repeating in his mind. And as if they were still near, he could hear them say more. "He is responsible for his mother's death!"

Derak tripped and fell on the floor. Shaking, he didn't dare to stand up. Yet somehow, he felt like he had to. Derak stood up... and looked around. Before him stood a small house. In the garden was a dead oak tree, covered with poison ivy. It seemed no one was living in this house he knew so well; all the rooms were dark.

Derak suddenly spotted a small light. He gathered all his courage... and walked inside...

Plants covered the floor and everywhere on the walls were mushrooms. The air was moist and it felt like walking in a greenery. Derak saw the wall. On a certain place, there were lines carved in it. Behind the lines were the names of the inhabitants. Liz, 3 years. Derak, 5 years. A crack then went through the middle of the line before it continued. Liz, 5 years. Derak, 8 years

Derak clenched his fist and trembled at the words. He lay his trembling hand against the wall and inhaled deeply. He had gone so far... he couldn't give up now. No one seemed to live here any more, yet there was light.

"Her face was as warm as the morning sun." He suddenly heard someone saying very soft. "As bright as the stars, her smile was all the earth needed to grow."

Derak walked on into the room. "I thought this house was destroyed. " He said to the man in the chair.

The man in the chair didn't look up. "She was the rose of life; she only had to touch the earth to give it life." Derak swallowed. "He took her away from me." Derak looked up. "He took her away from me, as well as my little girl."

Derak ran towards the man in the chair. The man didn't look to Derak, not even when Derak threw himself at his feet. "I didn't mean to!" He said with a trembling voice. "I'm so sorry!" Tears welled up in his eyes. "I didn't mean to cause the earthquake!"

"First he took my wife and after he left, he stole all I had left." His eyes were still hollow. "Where did I fail as a father?"

Derak was shocked. "No, no!" He yelled. "You didn't fail as a father!"

The man's eyes suddenly filled itself with water. "I failed as a father..." He only said.

Derak grabbed his hand. "No!" He repeated and then broke down crying. "I failed you... I failed you as a son..."

Derak opened his eyes. He raised himself and grabbed his head. What just happened?

"Forest Rhyme!" Derak looked up and saw Lady Gaia.

Her attack went straight towards 2 girls. "Pesky Guardian!" Tsukiyo yelled. "Why don't you ever get of our back!"

"As long as you will hurt people, I will fight you!" Lady Gaia said back. "Purple Heart!" The attack, named after the colour of her eyes, went straight at the girls.

"You are too late!" Yuugao smiled and together they vanished.

Lady Gaia whipped a lock from her hair out of her face. She then turned around and ran at Derak. "Derak!" She kneeled at him. "Are you all right?"

Derak stood up and pulled himself loose. "Leave me alone."

"Did they do anything to you?" Lady Gaia asked concerned. "Did they eat your dream? Do you feel..."

"I said, leave me alone!" Derak yelled and ran away.

"Derak stop!" Lady Gaia screamed and followed him. "I have to know what they did to you!"

Derak turned around. "Why do you care?" Tears appeared from under his sunglasses. "I only cause trouble!"

Lady Gaia walked at him. "No, you don't cause any trouble. The Dream Fairies do."

Derak turned around. When Lady Gaia noticed his entire body was trembling, she laid a hand on his shoulder. "Will my life ever stop changing?" She heard him ask. "My life was just fine back then, why did it have to change?"

Lady Gaia comforted him. "Life is all about changes." She replied. "I know your biggest wish is that nothing shall change any more, but I can't promise you that."

"Lady Gaia?" Derak asked. "Did you ever... want to turn back time...? To stop yourself from making the choices you made back then...?"

Lady Gaia took him in her arms. "All the time, my boy, all the time..."

In the house, Zach and Kitt sat in the living room. "Why did you call us, Lady Gaia?" Zach asked. "Is Derak okay? Did you find him?"

Lady Gaia shook her head. "I found him, but he's not fine."

"Is he hurt?" Kitt asked worried.

Again, Lady Gaia shook her head. "No, he's not hurt... physically. The Dream Fairies..."

"What did they do to him?" Zach asked. "I thought they were only after Moka."

"They are." Lady Gaia replied. "But before they can hurt Moka, they have to get rid of his friends." Lady Gaia looked at Zach and Kitt. "I have to leave for a day." She then said. "And I'm taking Derak with me."

"What?!" Zach exclaimed. "But we need him!"

"Right now, you won't be able to count on him." Lady Gaia stood up. "They destroyed him mentally. I can only hope I'll be able to undo what they did."

"How are you going to do that?" Kitt asked curious.

Lady Gaia looked back. "Don't ask how." She said. "Ask who."

Far away from Zach and Kitt, a green haired boy stood before a house. Behind him stood a green haired woman. "You can't keep on running." Lady Gaia softly said. "You would only run yourself into a black hole which you can't get out any more."

Derak nodded and swallowed deeply. He took of his sunglasses and gave it to his Guardian. He slowly walked towards a door. For a moment, he hesitated, but then he rang the doorbell.

At that moment, Derak wanted to run away with all his heart. He simply couldn't! He turned around, until he heard the door behind him opening. Derak turned back.

His face was old. Older than he expected it to be. His face was eaten by time and grief. Derak saw he had cried a lot. And now these old eyes looked at him.

Derak said nothing. He didn't know what to say. Lady Gaia had brought him to Earth, but even he knew he had to do this alone.

The old man slowly came closer. "You... have grown..." He only could say. Derak was now taller than he ever had been. The man smiled and his eyes filled with tears. Not from sorrow, but from happiness. "You still have her eyes...." He sniffed. "You have Azalea's eyes..."

The man took him in his arms, so firm that Derak knew he didn't want to let go any more. Derak put his arms around this man also. Old wounds were ripped open, but slowly, they finally began to heal... "Dad... I'm so sorry for everything..."

The end.
