Episode 21: No way back

It was still early when Kitt and Zach left their warms beds to find out when Zach's first battle would be. Kitt yawned a lot and scratched herself behind the ear.
"I still don't see why I also had to get up so early." She stretched herself. "You are a big boy, you can do this kind of stuff on your own."
Zach stopped. "I thought you were going to be my trainer?"
"Did I said that?" Kitt kicked against the wall. "Next time I say stuff like that, shoot me."
A friendly woman stood behind the counter. "Welcome." She nodded. "What is your name?"
"Zach." Zach replied and gave his invitation.
The woman typed his name. "Ah yes, I see. The last on the list."
Kitt smiled, while Zach grumbled. "Why does everyone keeps on saying that?"
"Your first match will be at 2 o'clock against Oni Yamoto. She's a Makaay." The woman gave Zach a little piece of paper.
"What's a Makaay?" Zach asked.
Kitt slapped him upside his head. "Study, Zachy-boy." She smiled. "A Makaay can focus really well and therefore is hard to beat. But their weakness is that they are not fast."
Zach felt embarrassed. The woman smiled. "Good luck the Eclipse."
"Thanks ma'am." Zach greeted and turned away. "Kitt." He then started. "What is the Eclipse?"
Kitt was startled. He claimed to be such a fan of the Moon Tournament, but he didn't knew these facts? "Round 1 is called the Eclipse, you idiot. Now, if you would excuse me, I have to... ehm... do some girl stuff." Quickly she walked away.
Zach looked around. He already waited for 5 minutes. What was Kitt doing? Suddenly, he spotted 2 kids. 'Mm,' he thought, 'they remind me of someone. But they can't be here.'
"Welcome, Kygo Han." The woman behind the counter said to them. "Your first round will be against S'dan Guma."
"Thanks miss." The boy smiled and quickly vanished with the girl.
After a few metres, the boy and girl removed their disguises. It were Moka and Mika!
"I can't believe she bought it!" Mika cheered. "We are in the tournament!" She looked around. "Hey, " She pointed, "There is that S'dan-dude. C'mon!"
She wanted to walk away, but a young woman with purple hair and glasses blocked them. "Cheaters never win." She only said.
Moka pushed her away. "I'm not going to cheat, I'm just gonna... meet my opponent. Who do you think you are anyway?"
The woman looked in her note-book, pretending to be absent. "My name is Nova Young. I organised this tournament, and I say you once again Moka, cheaters never win." Miss Young walked away.
"How does she know my name?" Moka asked.
Mika pulled Moka along. "She probably overheard us. If she wanted to kick us out of here, she already would have done it. Now come on!"
"Here you are miss." The man gave Kitt a piece of paper. "Good luck with the Eclipse."
Kitt greeted the man and turned around, when she suddenly heard: "Kitty! Hey Kitty, over here!"
Kitt gasped for air. "Starleen? What are you doing here?" She looked at her twin sister. She had instead of 2 pigtails one big ponytail. It made her look so different!
"What do you think I'm doing here?" Star laughed. "I wanna see you fight! And look who I brought along."
Star pointed at 2 people. Kitt looked away. "Ehm, hi mom, dad."
The woman walked at Kitt and wanted to hug her, but stopped. "We were so worried honey. Why didn't you call?"
"I can take care of myself." Kitt answered.
"I noticed." Her father replied. "You can also take care of my credit-card!"
Her mother stopped her husband. "Darling, you promised." She turned to Kitt again. "We talked to Mr Friggo, and he allows you to come back if you apologise to Ken."
"Why should I?" Kitt looked up. "The only thing I'm sorry of is that I didn't broke his nose more than on 2 places."
Star hopped next to her. "You know, dad said that if you came back he would get you your own motor cycle, just as you wanted."
Kitt looked at her father. Her own bike? "Ehm, yeah." He said. "I asked the museum and they are busy with your dream bike. It's like those old ones, and cost me a fortune...."
"Darling!" Kitt's mother hushed.
"But I can afford it." Her father looked at her. "I don't care about it anymore. You don't have to become a scientist like me or Starleen if you don't want to."
"Well, I don't." Kitt sighed. "But I also don't know what to become also."
Star clapped in her hands. "Glad you two finally agree on something! Now Kitty, where is that Zachy-boy of yours? I want to introduce him to mom and dad."
Kitt sweat-dropped. "No way!" She exclaimed.
"Why honey?" Her mother asked. "Are you ashamed of us?"
Kitt looked down. "No... ehm, it's not that. He just doesn't know I'm also in the tournament."
"What?" Star yelled. "You haven't told him? But what if...."
"That never happens!" Kitt snapped. "He'll never make it to the second round, and if he does, I won't. Either way, we'll never have to face each other." She looked away and saw that Zach was looking for her. She had been gone for too long! "Ehm, gotta go. My match is at 3 o'clock." She wanted to walk away, but stopped. "Dad, I don't want you to buy the way to my heart.... But... don't get rid of the bike yet!" She ran away.
"Zach!" She yelled. "I'm here!"
"Ah, there you are." Zach noticed. "I was worried that...."
"No need for." Kitt answered. "Let's go, you have only a few hours left to get ready. Let's have breakfast!"
"Again?"
Kitt and Zach walked back to their cabin and crossed a restaurant. In the restaurant, a man was eating a Sundae. He was an alien, but across him were 2 humans!
"How nice of you to give me this." He smiled. "But I must leave soon, I've got to fight."
"Oh, you are in the tournament?" Mika smiled 'innocent'. "What a coincidence!"
"My name is S'dan." The alien said and ate some more. "And you?"
Suddenly, Moka jumped up. "Look! Over there!"
S'dan quickly turned around and looked, but saw nothing. Mika quickly threw some powder on the Sundae.
"What is over there?" S'dan asked.
Moka sat down. "Ehm... 2 sausages for the price of one."
S'dan ate more of his ice and Mika and Moka smiled to each other.

Zach stood ready. He was nervous. It always was his dream to be here, but now.... Was he ready for it? Would he win, would he loose?
Kitt noticed he was trembling. "Relax." She encouraged him. "I'm positive you will win." Zach looked at her. "And if you loose, you'll also have to face me!"
"Now that would be an easy fight." Zach smiled.
For the first time, Kitt smiled and only gave him a light pat upside his head. "Oh yeah? Now let's go and kick some Makaay butt!"
Zach walked in. "Hey, did you already heard it?" He quickly asked Kitt while she sat down.
"Heard what?" She asked.
"Some guy called Kygo won his match because his opponent didn't show up."
Kitt pushed him towards the battle field. "You are not that lucky." She smiled.
Zach walked up the battle field. On the floor, there was a black circle. He knew what that circle mend: an eclipse. He looked at the other side.
On the other side, there was a young girl. Her hair was pink and her skin was green. He knew she was his opponent. He took off his jacket and threw it at Kitt.
Oni Yamoto took off her coat. He was amazed! She was really beautiful! She looked very fragile, how on earth could she be chosen?
The referee walked to them. "The rules are simple. No magic allowed, and no weapons. The loser stays on the floor for 10 seconds. Are you ready?"
Zach nodded, but wasn't so sure about it. Oni Yamoto also nodded. A bell rang; the battle had begun.
Before Zach could react, Oni Yamoto had already punched him in the stomach. He slipped towards the side.
"Look out for her!" Kitt yelled.
Zach crawled back up. "Thank you Kitt." He growled sarcastically. Zach stormed at Oni Yamoto and tried to hit her.
However, she managed to avoid all his moves. Before he knew it, Oni Yamoto had punched him in the face. He lay on the ground, and heard the referee counting. Zach crawled back on his feet. He just couldn't loose already! He finally made it, his dream had come true.
Now he only had to proof the world he was the best! Zach stormed at Oni Yamoto with new strength, and slammed his fist forward. But, Oni Yamoto stopped Zach before he could hurt her. Slowly, she crunched his fist. That really hurt!
"Zach!" He heard Kitt yelling. "Remember what I told you earlier this day!"
Remember, remember what? What had she told? She had told him that he was an idiot, she had slammed him a 1000 times, she told him that he should study his opponent... opponent? What had she told about the Makaay? Their weakness was that they were slow! He needed to be fast!
Without hesitating Zach slammed his fist into Oni Yamoto's stomach. She flew back. "Yeah!" Kitt cheered. "That's my Zachy-boy!"
Zach got filled with fresh energy now that he managed to hit his opponent. He stormed at her again, and dove as fast at he could at her.
Oni Yamoto crawled back up and wanted to punch Zach, however he ducked away and slammed her once more.
Oni Yamoto stormed at Zach, but Zach jumped away. Oni Yamoto turned around and saw Zach's foot coming. She slammed at the ground, tried to get up, but decided it was better to stay down.... The referee counted and Zach felt his heart beating. 7-8-9... 10!
"Yeah!" He yelled. "I won!"
Kitt was happy and cheered. He had won! Suddenly, it occurred to her what really happened. She looked at the happily jumping up and down Zach. At least he was happy, and Kitt turned around. She had a match to fight....
A news reporter walked at Zach. "How do you feel?" He asked Zach.
"I'm too happy to be modest!" Zach laughed. "Come back in an hour! Hey mom, look, I'm off to round 2!" He waved to the camera.
Cheerful, Zach turned around. If Kitt didn't help him, he would have surely lost! But when he looked at the bench, he saw Kitt was gone. Where on earth/Serenay moon had she gone?
On the private tribune, a young woman with purple hair and glasses looked at Zach and smiled. 'Well done Zachy...' she thought.
