Episode 15: Rivalry

"Stop! In the name of the law!"

Kitt and Zach ran through the woods, followed by a herd of police men.

"Thanks a lot Kitt!" Zach cursed. "If you didn't took that loaf of bread from that old lady, she never would have recognized us!"

"I was hungry!" Kitt replied. "So sue me! And she already had 4 loafs anyway."

Zach sighed and ran further.

Suddenly, they reached a cliff. It went downhill very fast, but he knew they hadn't any choice. He pulled Kitt along.

Quickly, both ran downhill. "Zach!" Kitt yelled. "Don't run so fast! I can't keep up with you!" At that moment, Kitt tripped and bashed against Zach.

Zach and Kitt rolled until the edge of the cliff. Finally, they laid still. "Sorry...." Kitt mumbled.

"Hold it right there!" They heard again.

Suddenly, the cliff began to rumble and the floor suddenly vanished under their feet. Both Kitt and Zach fell towards the far away river.

"No!" Zach yelled (getting a great flashback to episode 1), "Not again!"

"Bubble Ball!" Zach suddenly heard a bright voice.

Zach felt he stopped falling. He saw he was sealed in a great bubble. He looked at Kitt. "Did you do that?" He asked.

Kitt shook her head. The river was still coming close, only a lot slower. About 2 centimeters above the surface, the bubbles, suddenly burst and Kitt and Zach fell into the water.

When they both gasped for air, they noticed a young girl, about 16 years old. "Come with me." She said and Kitt and Zach climbed out of the water.

Zach looked at the girl. She had a high school uniform: a short blue skirt with blue suspenders and a white sailor-like shirt. Her white hair was tied into 2 long pigtails and her aqua colored eyes shone brightly.

Kitt followed the girl. "Who are you?" She asked.

"I'm Sky Etoile and I'm here to help you." She took a torch. "Quick, come."

Zach was almost too eager to follow her and Kitt growled at him softly.

Sky led Zach and Kitt into a dark cave. Very soon, they reached a stone bridge, only there was a huge hole in the center of it. Without hesitating, Sky jumped over it.

Zach was amazed! The hole should be about 3 meters, and she jumped without any trouble. Zach walked back a bit and run. He jumped at the last moment and almost reached the other side!

"Zach!" Kitt yelled, but sighed relieved when she saw Zach managed to grab the edge.

"Easy!" Zach shouted back. "Piece of cake!"

Kitt thought a moment. She could never jump over it. "Ehm..." She started and suddenly knew it. "Trident Power Wave!" Kitt changed outfit and the trident appeared in her hand. She then took it and walked back. She ran forward and put the trident on the ground. She pushed herself to the other side. Easily, she landed on the other side.

"What's with the outfit anyway?" Zach asked, observing her.

"Came with the trident." Kitt mysteriously answered and followed Sky.

At the same time, the policemen reached the cave where Zach and Kitt fled into. "They went in here sir!" One saluted.

The commissioner walked inside. Quickly, he also reached the broken bridge. "Where did they go?" He asked himself and turned around. Suddenly, he saw a small girl, with purple hair and red eyes. What was she doing here, and where did she come from? "Have you seen 2 people here?" He asked, but Chibi Kim stood still. She didn't move. The commissioner walked at her. "This isn't a place for such a small girl...."

Suddenly, Chibi Kim raised her arm. "Crystal Prism Power!" She yelled and the cave filled itself with a blinding light. The policemen fled outside the cave, which collapsed behind them.

"What shall we do now sir?" One asked.

"Don't worry, they can't escape." The commissioner replied. "We know they are on their way to Serenay Moon. We'll get them at the space station."

In the mean while, Kitt (back into her old self) and Zach followed the mysterious Sky. Zach looked at Kitt. He knew she didn't like caves and laid a hand on her.

"I'll be fine." She softly said and smiled friendly.

Sky stopped when she reached 2 corridors. She pointed at one. "This one leads outside, where you will be safe. I've got to take this one."

Kitt walked at Sky. "Why are you helping us?"

"I'm just a nice girl. Go on."

"Thank you so much." Zach said and together with Kitt he walked inside the corridor.

Sky hid in the other cave and watched them leaving.

"From now on they're on their own." She smiled. "Thanks sis."

Chibi Kim looked around the corner. "No sweat, it was fun!"

After a while, Zach and Kitt finally reached the woods again. Kitt inhaled deeply.

"I wonder where we are." Zach asked.

Kitt raised her shoulder. "Wait!" She suddenly said. "There is a sign! Haven Village! Only 1 mile, let's go, I'm hungry!"

She wanted to walk away, but all of a sudden, Zach dove into her backpack. He quickly took the map and unfolded it. In the mean while, Kitt crashed onto the floor.

"Impossible!" He exclaimed. "We shouldn't reach Haven Village until 1 week!"

"Weird, but I don't care." Kitt crawled back on her feet. "Let's go anyway."

Zach grabbed her arm. "Hey wait!" He sweatdropped. "Why not go to Divers Creek? That's close also!"

"I'm not in the mood for big cities." Kitt replied. "Let's go."

Kitt walked away, and Zach sighed deeply depressed.

Within a short while, the 2 friends reached Haven Village. It seemed to be in a big celebration, because all people were dressed.

Suddenly, they heard somebody exclaiming: "Oh! Look! It's our little Zachy!" A woman, dressed in a fairy's outfit, hugged Zach tightly. "Nicolas, look! It's your cousin Zach!"

Kitt was shocked, he knew these crazy folks?

Zach, finally released from this deadly hug, scratched his head. "Ehm, Kitt, this is my aunt Lilly and my cousin Nicolas."

Nicolas pushed Zach aside and kissed Kitt's hand. "How pleasant to meet you."

Kitt became a bit red, and at the same time, without seeing it, Zach became red also.

Aunt Lilly invited Zach and Kitt into her house. "Zach, it has been such a while." She told while she took some glasses. "My oh my, what have you grown."

Nicolas gave Kitt a little flower. "Excuse me my lady, I must abandon you for a moment."

Nicolas left the room and Kitt obvious liked this kind of attention. She noticed a boiling Zach. "What's your problem?" She asked.

"Nothing!" Zach bit at her.

Aunt Lilly put down the glasses with drinks. "Come on Zach, do you still see Nicolas as your rival?"

"Rival?" Kitt asked.

Zach still looked angry. "He's not my rival!"

"Tell me more." Kitt asked aunt Lilly, and she enjoyed this angry face of Zach.

Aunt Lilly sat down and began to tell. "It all started when I still lived close to Zach and his parents. Nicolas and Zach are the same age and both attended the same school. They were rivals since the day they were born."

"He's not my rival!" Zach exclaimed. "He's an idiot who luckily gets higher grades!"

"Rivalry," Kitt noticed. "I know that stuff."

Aunt Lilly nodded. "Yup, and they even fought about the same girls."

"Sounds familiar." Kitt sighed.

Zach slammed his fist at the table. "How can you possibly feel how I feel?" He yelled. "Do you have a smart-ass cousin?"

"No, but..."

"Then don't tell me it sounds familiar!" Zach stormed outside the room.

Aunt Lilly sighed. "Don't worry, it will blow over. Now tell me, there will be a costume party tonight, do you want to come?"

At the same time, Zach sat down under a tree. Somebody stepped next to him. It was Nicolas.

"Well, if it isn't my stupid cousin." He laughed. Zach didn't reply. "I heard Kitt will go to the party tonight. She'll probably dress as the queen she is." Zach imagined Kitt in a dress, but still didn't reply. "I'll ask her to be my date tonight."

Zach jumped up and almost pushed his fist in Nicolas face. "You are not going to take her to that party!" He yelled.

"What's the matter?" Nicolas asked mean. "Are you jealous?"

"No." Zach mumbled.

"Then what's the problem?" Nicolas asked and walked away.

Zach crashed down and sighed deeply.

That night, Zach, dressed as his favorite cartoon character, sat in the ball room. He hadn't seen Kitt or his relatives yet.

Suddenly, he spotted Nicolas, dressed as the phantom of the opera. While others took their masks off to drink, Nicolas kept it on. Zach wondered why.

At that moment, he spotted his fairy-aunt and Kitt. He was surprised! She wasn't dressed as a princess, like most girls, but as a tough Amazon.

Zach walked at Kitt. He observed her armor. "Nice outfit," He complimented.

"You look okay too." She answered absent minded and looked around. When she spotted Nicolas, she saw he was quickly walking away. She laughed. She rubbed her fist.

"Everything okay?" Zach asked.

"Oh... just fine." Kitt smiled. "Your cousin now learned that he should not kiss girls without asking."

Zach didn't knew what she mend, but she really seemed to enjoy it.

"Some punch?" Zach asked and Kitt nodded.

Zach walked towards the drink table and took 2 glasses.

At that moment, a motor gang crashed the party by driving into the ball room with their bikes.

Kitt saw what happened. "Derak...." She growled. Suddenly, she spotted 2 other people. "Mika and Moka?" She exclaimed.

"Yes! It's us." Moka answered. "We thought about trying another way."

Kitt and Zach walked forward. "Get out of here Derak!" Zach demanded. "We...."

Derak shook his finger. "Not this time. One minute. We were in some city and we thought we had seen Kitt." Kitt became pale. Derak snapped his fingers and one biker pulled a young girl who looked exactly like Kitt in the front!

"Ehm...." She started. "Hi Kitty."

"Star!" Kitt yelled. Kitt walked at Derak. "Let her go!" Derak laughed loudly and Kitt began to boil. She threw away her fake shield and sword and raised her arm. Her fist dove down, on the face of Derak. "I said, let my twin sister go!"

Derak slammed from his bike and touched his face. He jumped up. He slammed Kitt. Zach wanted to help, but other bikers blocked his way.

Kitt's eyes became full of fire. Starleen saw what happened. "Kitt! No! No!" She yelled. "Don't do it! No!"

Kitt focused. "Trident Power Wave!" She yelled and the trident appeared again.

"I said no!" Starleen sighed.

"Wave Crasher!" Kitt shouted and blasted the complete gang against the wall.

"My turn!" Zach said. "Ultimate Zako Y Chosen!"

This time, Mika, Moka and the gang flew through the wall and disappeared behind the hills.

Zach and Kitt did a high five and added a low five.

Kitt looked proudly at her sister. But she looked angry. "I said no! When will you finally listen? Remember, I've got the brains and the looks of us 2!"

"What?" Kitt screamed. "I just saved your butt!"

"I could have done it without you thank you."

"How about saying thanks for once?"

"Why should I?"

"Because I saved you!"

"Did not!"

"Did to!"

"Did not!"

Zach sighed deeply, and suddenly felt a depressing mood coming up. He walked away.

He stood a while on the balcony thinking deeply. His aunt joined him.

"What's the problem?" She asked.

Zach sighed. "I don't know. Maybe because I yelled at Kitt."

"Don't tell me, tell her." Aunt Lilly walked away and Zach noticed Kitt was standing behind him.

"Beautiful night." She started.

Zach nodded. "You never told me about your twin sister."

"I guess I should have."

It became silent.

"So you are jealous at your sister?" He finally asked.

"Shouldn't you be?" Kitt replied. "Every time I studied a week for exams, I only got a C minus, but my sister studied one hour and got an A+."

"I know the feeling." Zach smiled. "I'm sorry that I yelled at you."

"It's okay." She said. She looked in his eyes. "My sister Star seems to like your nephew. Shall we leave them alone?"

"Sure." Zach answered.

A few moments later, Zach and Kitt were on their way to Serenay Moon again. "Are you sure you want this?" Kitt asked.

"Uh-huh." Zach replied. "You?"

"Yes." Kitt looked at the stars. "We won't find any villages or cities within 5 days, but after that, it's only one more day to the space center. We'll be all alone out there."

"But what if we get hungry?" Zach asked.

"Then I'll cook something."

"But what if one of us gets hurt?"

"Then I'll use my knowledge of herbs."

"But what if..."

"Stop nagging!"
