Episode 3: Betrayal

Team Lightyear looked at the dark planet. You could cut the tension! "Ehm... Buzz..." XR started. "You want some coffee? I think we've run out of coffee. I'll get something for you!" He rolled to a door. "I heard they have some great coffee at Cosmo's bar!"
"XR..." Buzz commanded.
XR rolled back to his place, heavily annoyed. "After all those time, you'd think they would know more than just my name..." He mumbled.
Mira looked at Buzz. "Well Buzz, what is your plan?"
"We try to sneak in and then rescue Nané." Buzz looked determent at the screen.
Booster played with his fingers. "I just hope we are not too late."
In the mean while, Nané played with her new armour. She chased Warp over the whole ship. "You think you can hide, rubber ducky-man?!" She sneered. "Why don't you stop running and fight like a real number 2!"
Zurg sat on his throne and held a drink. "How cute." He sighed. "And within moments, we'll leave for Star Command and it will finally be destroyed!"
Warp peeked from behind the throne. "Evil Emperor Zurg, you think it is wise to go already?"
"She is at our side, isn't she?" Zurg asked.
Warp saw Nané coming again. "I'm not sure about that!" He ran away.
"Nané!" Zurg commanded Nané to come to him. "Playtime is over, it is time for you to do what you are hypnotised for."
Nané bowed. "Yes, my Evil Emperor in purple."
"Good, good." Zurg smiled. "Hey, why did you mention the purple?"
"Because purple is for royalties." Nané replied quickly.
Zurg laughed evilly. "Of course, I knew that!" Behind his back, Nané did all sorts of 'throw-up' moves. Zurg turned back and Nané looked completely normal again. "I thought I heard something...."
Zurg commanded the Grubs to get anything ready for take off. "Joyous victory!" Zurg exclaimed. "Today I will finally be the evil emperor I have dreamed off." He started thinking. "It makes you wonder... If I finally succeed, then it would mean there is nothing that will stop me any more. It would take the joy out of conquering. Maybe I shouldn't do this.... No!" He suddenly exclaimed. "Of course not! Ho ho ho! I'm so evil, I'm getting scared of me!" Zurg continued laughing about himself.
Team Lightyear landed on the roof of the evil emperor's castle and carefully looked around. Booster nervously tapped with his fingers. "Buzz... are you sure...?"
"Yes, I'm sure!" Buzz snapped. "So far we haven't been detected, so we'll continue our duty."
"I'm thinking Buzz, maybe we should have informed Commander Nebula." Mira suggested. "I mean, we are all alone on a hostile planet!"
"Am I the only one who seems his life flashing by?" XR mumbled. "I rather have a energy draining vampire or psycho clone than be here...." XR gasped. "No, cancel that! I rather be at home than be here!" He looked around. "Guys, did anyone hear me? What happened to the usual sighing 'XR'?"
"Not now XR." Buzz commanded.
XR sighed relieved. "Good, I almost thought you forgot all about me." He followed Buzz and his friends inside. "Can someone tell me why I am doing this? I mean, we could get killed! Just listen...."
"XR!" Mira, Booster and Buzz sighed annoyed at the same time.
"Just checking!"
Zurg helped Nané on his platform next to him. Warp grumbled. "He never asked me to stand beside him."
Nané smiled at him. Not the typically evil smile she had been showing the past hours, but another smile. "All right everybody, after this day you may call me Evil Emperor Zurg, the Great evil, very evil Conqueror."
"So that's why he's floating." Nané whispered to herself. "All that hot air...."
Zurg lurked at her. "What did you say?"
Nané swallowed. "Heh, heh, ehm, hail to Zurg the Conqueror!"
"How sweet of you!" Zurg hid his face. "Am I blushing?" Then he pointed at the roof. "Open the roof! This day will be the day history is rewritten!"
"Don't count on that Zurg!"
"Who said that?" Zurg looked around. "What?! Buzz Lightyear? How did you get in here?"
"That doesn't matter Zurg." Buzz angry replied. "All that matters is that you are under arrest!"
"Really?" Zurg did if he was scared. "My evilness, I'm so afraid. Oh no, the mighty Buzz Lightyear is going to arrest me! What can I do? What can I do?" It all sounded so dramatically. Suddenly Zurg started bellowing. "Hornets, attack!"
Hornets appeared from everywhere and Buzz and his friends started attacking the yellow robots. "There are too many here!" Mira yelled above the laser. "We can't win this Buzz!"
"We will win!" Buzz ordered. "Anyone who dares to lose has to clean Star Cruiser 42 with a toothbrush!"
"Mira, I'm worried." Booster told Mira. "This doesn't sound like Buzz. Even he has to accept he can't always win."
At the mean while, XR had pulled out all his lasers he had in stock! "Who dares to hurt me? Who is a big boy?" A hornet almost hit him. "I was only kidding!" And hid behind Booster. "Wait a minute!" He then noticed. "I'm a highly intelligent robot! I cannot loose from these... these... things!" He jumped into the battle again and fought with all his courage.
Zurg looked at the battle. Nané looked at him. "Ehm, emperor Zurg, shouldn't we leave for Star Command?"
"Huh, what?" Zurg asked. "Of course not, I first want to crush Buzz Lightyear!"
At that moment, Team Lightyear disabled the last Hornet.
"Well, do you give up Zurg?" Buzz smiled confidant.
Warp jumped up. "Let me handle this Zurg!" He yelled.
Zurg laughed. "You?! I didn't think so!" He laughed evilly. "You see Buzz Lightyear, I have a weapon even you can't defeat!"
"Huh?" Buzz could only reply.
Zurg stepped aside. "I introduce you to the new and improved Nané Sophia!"
Team Lightyear gasped. "Oh no, we are too late." Booster could only say.
"Well, that was it." XR sarcastically mentioned. "Now we are doomed."
"Nané, my dear Nané, would you...?" Zurg asked, proud as he could be.
Warp sulked in a corner of the room. "I'm good too..." He whined.
Nané bowed. "Yes, Zurg." She jumped off the platform and landed on the floor with a dramatic crash. "Don't worry." She smiled. "It will all be over soon...." And she raised her laser.
Buzz couldn't believe it. "I... failed?"
"Oh goody goody!" Zurg cheered. "Buzz Lightyear is going to be destroyed and I'm on the first row."
"First row indeed!" Nané suddenly turned around and fired her laser at Zurg. The laser hit the platform and Zurg almost fell off.
"What? Huh? What?" Zurg exclaimed confused.
Nané laughed. "You could have known it Zurg! I am loyal to Star Command!"
"But I hypnotised you!" Zurg crawled back on his platform. "You are under my control!"
"Ehm... guess not!" Nané answered. "And thanks for the new Power Suit!"
"But I hypnotised you!"
"Get over it!" Nané screamed. "As soon as I knew what you were doing, I didn't look into your eyes any more!" She turned to Buzz. "Okay Buzz, he's all yours!"
"A true Space Ranger!" He smiled. "Well done Rookie!"
"My pleasure!"
"No, my pleasure!" Zurg then exclaimed and took a small remote control. He pushed a button and suddenly streams of electricity hit Nané. She screamed of agony. "Oh dear, did I forgot to mention the safety?" Zurg asked if he was actually sorry of it. "Well, I'm so sorry! You obey to me, or you'll die right here, right now!"
"I will not obey!" Nané tried to say.
"Zurg, you evil..." Buzz started.
"How flattering!" Zurg smiled. "You honour me Buzz. Now, you all surrender or your precious Nané will die."
Nané tried to think straight. 'They mustn't surrender', she swallowed, 'but I know them. They will surrender.' She looked aside. 'What can I do to help...' Suddenly she spotted Warp! She saw he was laughing. 'Warp...' Nané thought, 'He must help me...'
*Warp!*
"Huh, what?" Warp exclaimed. Where did that voice come from?
*Warp, you must listen to me!*
"Who is talking to me?!" Warp looked around, confused.
*It's me, Nané!* Warp looked at Nané. *I need your help!*
"Your lips aren't moving!" Warp noticed.
*This is telepathy, I call it sending* Nané send. *Just think that you are talking to me and I'll pick up your thoughts."
*Huh?* Warp thought. *What does she mean?*
*I mean that! Now listen!* Nané ordered. *I know you want to be number 1 again!*
Warp smirked. *Like you care.*
*I don't want Zurg to win, and I can only do this with your help!*
*Why should I help?*
*Because then you'll be number 1 again.*
Warp thought deeply. 'That would be nice.' He thought. *Okay, what should I do?*
*Shoot me!*
"Huh?" Warp exclaimed.
*I don't care if you kill me, but if you stop me, Zurg will like you again!*
*Yeah, shooting at someone who can't move a muscle, like that is so heroic.*
"Well Buzz, what is your answer?" Zurg asked Buzz.
"This is his answer!" Nané jumped up and aimed at Zurg.
"What?" Zurg exclaimed.
"Emperor Zurg!" Warp exclaimed and jumped in front of the evil emperor and shot at Nané. He hit Nané in the outer controls.
"Nané!" Buzz exclaimed.
Warp then aimed at Buzz. "I think you can better leave Buzz." He smiled.
"You haven't won yet Zurg!" Buzz yelled. Booster picked up an unconscious Nané and all left for Space Cruiser 42.
"Well Zurg, what do you say about that?" Warp asked confidant.
"Curse you Nané! Curse you Buzz Lightyear!" Zurg yelled. "Curse anyone who is as goody-goody as you are!" Angry he walked at the Grubs to cancel the attack plan. "I want to see my number 1 tomorrow morning again, but now I want some aspirins!" He yelled at Warp.
Warp smiled for a moment, but then looked doubting.
At Space Cruiser 42, Mira walked at Buzz. "It's weird Buzz." She mentioned.
"What is weird Mira?" Buzz smiled. "We completed our mission!"
"Not that." Mira answered. "It's just that... I thought Warp never missed. It's like he didn't want to kill Nané, just stop her."
"That is impossible Mira." Buzz laughed. "Warp would do anything to get rid of his rival."
"Yeah." Booster smiled, "It's just a coincidence!"
"You'll probably be right." Mira smiled.
Buzz looked at her. "Don't worry too much Ranger Nova, we saved the universe once more from Zurg's evil plotting! Let's go to infinity...."
"And beyond!" All added.
"Anyone for some coffee?"
"XR!"
