Characters

I am still planning this book, so there will be a lot more characters! I just don't know them by name yet.

Mateo

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Dark Red/Brown
Eye colour: Olive (green)
Mateo is one of the two main characters. Ever since his 'punishment' (see also 'Grey' and 'Sci-Fi') Mateo has calmed down a lot. Instead of trying to become the most powerful warlock of all time, he just wants to spend his time at home and take care of his kingdom. Technically Mateo was born a prince and since his parents have passed away, he is now king. He dislikes that title, as well as ruling, causing the kingdom to have the same 'style of ruling' as the kingdom of MorningSnow has: When needed the people can ask for help, but nothing is asked in return, nor are people forced to pay tax.
Now that Mateo is finally back home at Castle Skyfire, he wants nothing more than his men to be happy... while that is the problem! There are only men in his castle (asides Kitten). When he asks Konoai for help, he notices Kimu. He wants to cheer her up and can't seem to understand her pain.
Frustrated that Kimu is the first one who completely blocks him out while he has no idea why, Mateo has this big urge to make her smile again... using whatever means possible!
Mateo has about 75% of Konoai and Teria's strength in magic, but unlike them he uses his magic freely. He likes to magically change Kimu's clothes, especially since he knows she hates that!

Kimu

Kimu

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Ochre
Eye colour: Grey/Blue
Kimu's father was born on Seken and due to the accident in 'Grey' he was transported to Earth. Unlike all the other tribe members, the chief of the IceHunters (Grey) didn't manage to find him, making him 'the lost tribe member'. Kimu's father still did the best he could to cope on this strange new planet and fell in love with an earthling. Kimu's mother was quite open and always believed her husband, especially when it turned out their daughter possessed small Seken magic! Unfortunately, Kimu's father died of an illness when she was quite young, leaving her mother and her alone. To make things even worse, not much later Grey finally managed to track 'the lost tribe member' down... only to find out it was too late.
Kimu (sometimes called Kimi) grew up, slowly finding out what her magic could do. She could control the flow of electricity and use the 'brain electricity' of animals to communicate with them. She couldn't talk with them, but she could feel if they were happy or not. She specialised into Marine Biology, working at a big Aquarium that also held dolphin shows.
While Kimu rarely was in touch with Konoai and the others, she still was taken away by people who wanted to lure Konoai. However, they didn't want Konoai; they knew they could use Konoai to get to Mateo! Mateo rescued her in the end, but Kimu never forgot he was the reason she was kidnapped. To add to that, due to the kidnapping Kimu had to leave the country so the 'evil people' would leave her alone. She ended up working in a Marine Zoo in America, but returned after a year. It turned out her mother had cancer and even though Kimu begged her mother to let Konoai heal her, her mother disobeyed and let nature take its course.
Devastated by this event, Kimu didn't want to stay at home any more, especially when she heard the Aquarium had fired her because she spend too much time with her mother and because of the kidnapping. Desperate, Kimu went to Konoai for help, who took her in on Seken and MorningSnow.
Kimu doesn't know where she belongs any more and even though her powers grow more and more on Seken, she doesn't seem to care whether she is dead or alive...

Kitten

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
Kitten is the first woman whom Mateo let stay at Castle Skyfire and also the first one who knows the truth about its inhabitants. Her Sonaï and husband is born on Earth and even though she respects that, she doesn't know if she would want to set foot on that strange planet. Kitten dislikes technology and more or less fears it. In order to cope with these strange events that she is now part of, Kitten's belief in the High Ones became much more important to her. Kitten loves her husband no matter what, but she would love it even more if all that strange stuff would move out of their home!... but she knows that will never happen.

Mira

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
Mira (pronounced as 'Mih-rah') was born and raised as a normal village girl. She has a respect for authority but can't stand arrogance. In order to get more women to Skyfire, Kimu suggested a ball that was open for everyone. Mateo agreed, hoping that his men would find love this way. Mira easily noticed Kimu was part of the organisation and that Mateo was crazy about her, but couldn't understand why Kimu treated the young king so coldly. During this ball, she openly accused Kimu of being arrogant, shocking the whole room. She spoke freely, telling Kimu she was cruel to the man who caredso much about her. Kimu didn't reply (asides from some cold stares) but Mira's words never let go of her.
When Kimu saw Mira for the second time (trust me, there was an occasion for it!), Mira gave Kimu a gift: a mirror; so the woman would never forget who she was.
Eventually, Mira became one of Kimu's best friends and the second Seken woman who would be trusted with the secret... even though she had a hard time dealing with that!

Line

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
Line (pronounced as 'Lean') lived with her uncle after her parents died. When she first met Kimu, she was only 5 years old. It was on the day Mira give Kimu the mirror. Everyone wanted to give a present and Line gave Kimu a ragdoll she had tried to make herself. While the villagers thought this was an insult, Kimu declared the gift the most beautiful one of them all.
When the village was raid in order to lure Mateo out and leaving the castle behind, Line's uncle was killed. While the men drove out to see how they could help the village, Kimu, Kitten and Mira were left behind to take care of the castle as well as Line. It turned out this was a trap, leaving the women behind to defend the castle against an army of thieves. Line was put into a secret room and hardly noticed a thing of the war.
After the war it was decided that Line would stay on Skyfire. She was more or less adopted by Kimu and Mateo and turned out to have special magic: she is a 'Spirit Carrier'.

Ethan

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
A young man who knows his leader very well. Kimu had been taken away by the army of thieves, Mateo was near death, Mira was recovering and Kitten and her husband were sleeping in technological Healing Tanks (recovering as well). This young man realised that if anything would happen to Kimu, Mateo would go crazy and could possibly let the magic take control; making him evil (a common danger for Magic Users!). If Mateo would wake up and find out Kimu was not there... Mateo would go crazy.
But how can one man withstand a whole army? While he dislikes his choice, he willingly breaks THE law of Castle Skyfire... and takes a gun into the world of Seken... mixing technology with this medieval planet!
The main question is... will the High Ones allow that?

Andrew

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
The task of the new Skyfire men was to find women and let the tribe grow. This young man, however, discovered his preference on Seken... and it wasn't women. Thinking he would let down Mateo and the rest of the tribe, he lived with his secret until he couldn't take it any more... and as expected, his tribe didn't understand it- or rather why he worried this much. They couldn't see what the big deal was. So what that he liked men more than women? Okay, it meant children would not really be an option, but as the rest of the tribe said: "Isn't your happiness more important?"
(They eventually tried finding him suitable dates. In the beginning, they were even a bit insulted he didn't consider them 'good' enough for him, but actually: none were his type.)

Michael

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
Michael was a teenager on a cruiseship (Earth) Kimu escaped to, when she had one of her fits again. Feeling neglected by his father, the captain, he and Kimu became best friends. He even got a little crush on her, but gave up on her after meeting her husband. When he grew up, Kimu and Mateo asked him to be part of their tribe. Seken is a new world to him, but he'd never suspect to find an Olympic Swimmer in Castle Skyfire!

Elise van der Jagt (Rématsu)

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Undecided
Eye colour: Undecided
Elise was once part of The IceHunters, but she left them to follow her dream: to compete along in the Olympics. Because it meant she would be on TV a lot, she had to break all bonds to Seken. Eventually, she missed Seken too much and had 'an accident', so she could break away from Earth, though it meant she had to stay away from Earth for at least 50 Earth years.
Tired of all publicity, Elise escaped to Castle Skyfire, where she met Michael, an Earth boy Kimu took in. At first, Elise didn't like him, thinking he was 'one of those fans', but eventually she saw his true heart...
On Earth, Elise studied medicine so she could practise reverse engineering; finding out how medicine were made so she could recreate them on Seken, with Seken components.

'Crowett' (Crow)/ Redson

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Muted Brown
Eye colour: Green
He was one of the real people that got stuck in Mateo's 'Wizard of Zo' story. His true name doesn't exist, he was always called 'Reds son'. His father, named Red, ruled his home with an iron fist. Redson was so scared of him, he was too scared to flee the house. His friends had to drag him away, against his will, to free him from his father. At SkyFire, he will learn how to read and studies to become a wizard, but since it's self-taught, it goes very slow. He gets very upset if you call him 'Red', so his nickname remains 'Crow'.

'Tinnium' (Tin)/ Halibert (Hal)

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Black
Eye colour: Black
Halibert was the second person caught in Mateo's 'Wizard of Zo' story. After the story, his sole reason for living was 'saving' Kimu from her dreaded fate. His heart was not broken when he noticed Kimu was happy with her new life, it was shattered into a million pieces. No one knew how they could keep him from returning to his previous fate. Surprisingly, it was Andrew who managed to gather a few pieces and Hal discovered something he'd never suspected.

'Leo'/ Huuji

Birthday: Undecided
Hair colour: Yellow
Eye colour: Blue

Huuji was the third and last person to be caught in 'Wizard of Zo'. He was only a boy when he met Kimu, and a young man when he found her back. Even if he left his thieving days behind him, he never lost his skills. From the three, Huuji is the most cheerful, carefree and adventurous one, easily adapting to the new situation. Quite the contrast to his role in 'Wizard of Zo'.

More to come...
