Serenay Moon
Special IX: Wishing upon a star

It was cold. Cold and dark on Serenay Moon. She looked outside the cave. This was a very dangerous place to be, she knew it, but she had no choice. This was the Valley of the Singing Dragons and also her home. She didn't knew any other place. Where could she go? Even if she knew another place, she couldn't leave her infant behind.

She walked in again, seeing her never-hatched egg. Beside it was a young dragon, which was very weak. Tiamat knew that her infant wouldn't live long, it was just too weak! However, she couldn't leave it behind. It was her child, the last one of the dragons. Her mate had died after the eggs were created, and Tiamat and her infant Saigo Ryuko were the last dragons on Serenay Moon.

Ryuko squealed softly and raised it's small head. Tiamat sat down next to it and protected it with her warm wings. She knew what about was to happen. She tried to stay brave, but the face of her dying infant broke her complete heart and soul.

When the last dragonchild died, Tiamat started to create some sort of howl. She cried over her lost child, lost mate and her never hatched cub.

The hills of the valley made the song look more creepy than it already was but the humans below thought it was only the sound of the wind.

Tiamat stopped to sing. "My child." She prayed. "Let my child live! If he doesn't live, I don't want to live also."

Tiamat walked out of the cave, only to cry some more. At that moment, she saw 5 shooting stars. She thought about a custom the humans had. If you would wish upon a star, it might come true. Tiamat prayed for the life of her son, or her death, it really didn't matter to her any more.

Slowly she walked inside the cave again. She didn't saw a 6th shooting star coming her way. But was it a shooting star?

The small gem hit the wall of the cave and crashed right through it. Tiamat heard something rumbling and tried to figure out was it was. Suddenly, the shining gem crashed through the wall and hit the floor. It bounced back and hit Tiamat in the chest. Tiamat screamed of agony while the blinding light filled the cave.

Tiamat felt her wings were vanishing, her legs were becoming shorter and her face started to change also. 'What is happening?' she thought.

When Tiamat could look again, she crashed down. Standing on 2 hind-legs was new for her. She also saw her nest. It was almost empty! Her son was gone, Ryuko was gone! The only thing she saw, was her egg and a small grey cat. She slowly crawled at it.

"Meow?" It asked.

Tiamat gasped. She knew what it said! 'Mommy!'

Tiamat crawled even closer. "Ryuko?" She softly asked. Then her eyes filled with tears. This was her son! Her son was alive! She wanted to hug it, when she suddenly saw the pale arms. That weren't her arms! Tiamat ran to a small pool in the cave and slowly looked. That wasn't her! That was a human! She was suddenly a human!

Tiamat jumped away. She was no longer a dragon, and so was her infant! What had happened to her? But when she felt Ryuko against her, she smiled. It didn't matter to her she was no longer a dragon, as long as she and her infant were alive and healthy.

"We can now show ourselves to the humans." She whispered. "Without ending up in a zoo. And I understand my mission. I will find the Soldier of Dreams and I will train the Musical Soldiers one day."

"Meow." Ryuko purred.

Tiamat sat on a bench with Ryuko on her. Many years had passed since she transformed and she knew all her new powers. Ryuko enjoyed the summer sun. However, Tiamat sat on that bench for a reason. She observed a motor-gang.

"There she is Ryuko." She whispered. "We have to help her before it's too late."

Ryuko blinked with his eyes.

The girl with fire-like hair saw Tiamat. Tiamat smiled back. Though she forgot how many years had passed, she knew that she was immortal. She had all the time, but this girl didn't. "See you tonight." Tiamat smiled and vanished with Ryuko."

Tiamat waved Kitt goodbye. Ryuko joined his mother again. "Well, hope it wasn't too late." She said and lifted Ryuko.

Suddenly, she saw somebody. She knew this girl, with blond hair. "Why are you here?"

"I was looking for you." She answered. "I know who you are."

Tiamat sighed. "I know, I know you too. You are too early."

The girl showed a crystal heart. "I'm Liz Green, Soldier of Dreams. Things aren't going the way they are supposed to go. If we ever want to defeat the NightWing, I have to master my powers and my Magical Weapon so I can help the others."

Tiamat looked up. "I wished I could disagree, but I know you are right. Come, we must start." Tiamat walked away with Ryuko and Liz followed.

'Past, present and future', Tiamat thought, 'all are mixed together. I can only hope I can restore it once.'

The end.
