"It's kinda chilly here, isn't it?" No reply came. "So... have you been the Chosen Protector of Water for long now...?" Still no answer. Kitt grumbled. This guy was so silent! And she sometimes so hated silence! This was one of those moments.

For hours, she had been walking aside Qing Yuan, hoping they would find a way to get to the others. When Qing Yuan talked, she liked him; he had the same sarcastic sense of humour she often had, but when he was silent he so got on her nerves.

All both could here were the sounds of their footsteps, steady walking and making no more sound then needed. "Hey Yuan, is it okay if I call you Yuan?"

"No." Finally, he spoke again. Negative attention maybe, but at least he spoke.

"So, Yuan," She only said it so he would respond. "Do you have any clue who could be our enemy?" Silence once again. "I mean, where could our enemy be?"

"Not our enemy." Qing Yuan said and turned left.

"Why are we going left?" Kitt liked to know. "It seems like you know the way around here."

"Will you finally shut up?!" Qing Yuan burst out. "You haven't done anything but talking!"

"Well, that's only because you haven't spoken yet!" Kitt folded her arms.

"If we talk, the enemy will know where we are." Qing Yuan sighed and held his head.

Kitt looked up and started walking again. "Oh." She said a tad happier. "Why didn't you say so then?"

Qing Yuan took the lead again. He duck to make sure he didn't hit his head against the ceiling, and made sure Kitt came through as well. He looked up, and pointed. "Light." He only said, and took the lead again.

Kitt put her hands in her pocket. They were quite cold! Kitt also noticed she could see her own breath. She wanted to say something about it against Qing Yuan, but suddenly she noticed she couldn't see his breath! 'Probably because he's so cold hearted...' She tried to tell herself, but somehow she didn't believe it.

Qing Yuan suddenly stopped walking and Kitt joined him. "What do you seeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah!" BAM, there lay Kitt, on the floor. Qing Yuan sighed, and helped her up. Kitt felt her hurting face and then gasped. "Eh... is this possible?" She asked.

"I believe it is." Qing Yuan said and did a few steps forward.

Kitt was amazed. This cave, this small cave... entirely covered by ice! It looked like a cave made out of crystals, but the cold assured them this was pure ice. The wind through the cave made the ice sing, and Kitt 'skated' a few steps forward. "Do you think nature created this?" She asked, but then almost slipped away. With skates it was easy for her, but without them...

Qing Yuan caught her before she fell and Kitt looked up. "Stop fooling around." He only said. "I hate saving people."

"Eh... sorry..." Kitt apologised and blushed a bit. He was holding her! Why did she feel so funny on the inside? Qing Yuan let her go and skated a few passes backwards. Kitt looked at him with admiring eyes; he was so great!

"What?" Qing Yuan asked. "What are you staring at? I thought you would like to have fun! People like you like fun, don't they?"

"Eh... I guess so." Why was he saying that?

"Or can't you skate at all?" Qing Yuan smiled.

"Is that a challenge?" Kitt grinned.

"Maybe." Qing Yuan skated away. Kitt immediately followed him, easily getting adjusted to the ice. Qing Yuan made a curve backwards, and Kitt did it too.

"Can you go faster too?" Kitt passed him faster than ever, poking him as well. She laughed, and Qing Yuan turned around.

"Is that a challenge?"

"Maybe." Kitt grinned and Qing Yuan chased her.

Within no time he had caught up with her, catching her in his arms. Kitt smiled when he took her in his arms, and looked into his eyes. Skating together, Kitt had forgotten about anything she ever knew. Her hand went slowly to his face, touching it. Qing Yuan's hand went to hers, grasping it tight.

A small voice inside Kitt screamed 'No! No! Don't do it! It's-' but an other voice changed it all. It was soothing like a lullaby, and gentile pushed the thoughts away. Kitt closed her eyes and let his lips touch hers.

The lullaby was still sounding in her heart, pushing away the feelings of doubt. Slowly Kitt opened her eyes; still hearing the lullaby. Her eyes got dragged down, and noticed the gem that hung on the bottom of Qing Yuan's necklace.

Curious she looked at the blue gem; but why was she so curious? Underneath the lullaby she could still feel someone was yelling inside her, as if someone wanted her to wake up. As if this wasn't real. And suddenly, Kitt noticed that swirls of light went through the gem. A soft glowing came from it, matching the rhythm of the lullaby.

Kitt released a giggling sigh, and then spoke again. "What's with the glowing?" She honestly asked.

All of a sudden Qing Yuan let go of her. Surprised by this, Kitt slid on, on her own, and crashed against a boulder of ice. She flipped over it, and hit the ground. Moaning, she carefully came up again (she was now used to all the bruises, so it wouldn't matter if there was one more or less) and looked at Qing Yuan.

There he stood, just standing there and looking cranky as ever. The lullaby in Kitt's head was gone, and the necklace had stopped glowing. "Why did you do that?" Kitt asked annoyed, when suddenly the ground burst open!

Qing Yuan snapped around and looked at the dragon, entirely made of ice! Its howl sounded crystal clear, as sharp as the ice stakes around them. Qing Yuan got in a fighting stance, but not speaking a word.

Kitt saw how the dragon dove down and that Qing Yuan dove away. He turned around quickly, but so did the dragon and the dragon managed to hit Qing Yuan with the icy scales on his head. Qing Yuan slammed backwards, against the wall, only to get hit once more by the sharp and pointy tail of the dragon.

"Yuan, NO!" Kitt screamed and the dragon saw her. "Oh, you want to mess with me?!" Kitt yelled angry and summoned her trident. "That does it buddy, you are GONE! Aqua Dragon LOVE!"

By using her trident, Kitt created another dragon. The dragon, made out of the energy of water, rose above the ice dragon. The ice dragon roared, and slammed its head against the water dragon. Kitt screamed; trying to keep her energy focused.

"I will NOT loose from a pesky dragon!" Kitt screamed. "I will not loose friends again!!" Kitt raised her trident in the air, twirled it around and then pinned it in the ground with awesome force. Her water dragon swirled around the ice dragon, and caught it in its grasp. The water dragon then bit in the body of the ice dragon, and craps appeared.

Kitt did not wait. She knew the ice dragon was gone. She hurried to Qing Yuan and kneeled at him. Then, as the ice dragon exploded, she protected him by using her own body as a shield. Sharp pieces of ice hit her, cutting her, but she did not care at all.

Silence fell. The entire lake of ice was once again silent. Kitt opened her eyes, and saw Qing Yuan. He looked bad. Cuts were everywhere, even though there was no blood coming from it. Yet, he did not move any more.

"Yuan?" Kitt carefully asked, touching his face. "Please... don't tell me..." But he still didn't move. "Please... be okay!!! I beg you!"

Finally Qing Yuan opened his eyes, slowly and filled with pain. "Kitt?" He stammered. "I... don't worry.... I will be... okay..." Kitt sighed relieved. "But... you must do something... for me... then."

"Anything!" Kitt cried. "I'd do anything!"

"You can only... save me... if you... take my place..."

"Your place?" Zach looked confused at Nuria. Scratches were all over her body; showing what a harsh fight they had to fight. "What do you mean?"

Nuria came closer; the gem on her ring glowing bright red. "It will all be okay." She assured him. "You can't imagine how much I need you. I need you more than anything."

"Eh, thanks." Zach scratched his head. "But, your place? I don't get it. Why would I need to take your place?"

Nuria looked at her ring; her eyes hidden by her hair. "So you won't take my place?"

"No!" Zach said firm. "Not before I know what you are talking about!"

"Fine then..." Nuria said. "Have it your way."

"My way?" Zach didn't get it at all.

Nuria suddenly looked up; eyes blazing with fire. She raised her hands, into the air, with the red ruby on her ring glowing brighter than anything Zach had ever seen. "FIRE WHEEL!!"

"What the, Nuria?!" Zach screamed while a ring of fire surrounded him. "What are you- AAAAH!" The ring suddenly closed; scorching him terribly! In pain, Zach kneeled on the ground.

"Nuria, what the hell is going on?!" Zach demanded to know.

"Hell?" Nuria repeated. "You don't know what hell is." She raised her hand, but before the attack would even get launched, Zach attacked her first.

"Ultimate Zako Y Chosen!" He yelled and knocked Nuria out of balance. "Why are you doing this Nuria? What is wrong?"

"You ask too much." Nuria raised her hand once more. Zach was astounded; she didn't even look hurt at all!! "Phoenix Armada!"

Zach tried to hide, but got hit big time. He bashed against the wall of the cave, but refused to give up. "Give me answers!" He demanded.

"Like I said, you ask too much." Nuria looked at his fatigue body. 'One more blow should be enough.' She decided, and kissed the red ruby on her ring. "RED RUBY RING!" She shouted, and an immense ray of fire burst at Zach.

Last thing Zach knew, was that the world was fading out.... "W... Why?" He managed to ask before all went black.

"Why?" Dolan smiled, still holding Mike by her throat. She was gasping for air, slowly paling out. Then Dolan simply dropped her. "You will know that answer soon." He touched the gem on his belt. "Dark Crystal Belt!" He yelled, and Mika felt like a train ran over her. A tear escaped from her eye, as she flopped down on the ground unconscious.

"The only pity is..." Aure continued, suddenly not looking that fragile any more, when she touched her earrings... "White Diamond Earrings!" Moka gasped when he saw the cyclone coming, and soon joined the fate of his friends.

"...this could have been prevented..." Qing Yuen walked at Kitt's lifeless body.

"...if you hadn't woke up." Faye kneeled at Derak's body and took his sunglasses. "You shouldn't have come back to your senses. Believe me." She put the sunglasses on her face and tapped them. "Would have been a lot less harder for you.”
