Dust slowly cleared and coughs could be heard. A green haired boy carefully raised himself, and the girl underneath him followed him. “What went wrong?” Faye gasped and coughed, and stepped on her feet.

Derak looked around. Boulders were all around them, and the only opening was a corridor… with the witchcraft symbol for Earth above it… “I don’t think Zach did this…” Derak mumbled.

“He did not?” Faye asked and did a few steps forward.

Derak shook his head. “No, just look at what has been happened. Somehow, just the 2 of us are here. And both control the Earth.”

Faye gasped. “Could this be a trap?!” She panicked.

Derak nodded. “Yeah, but I won’t fall for it!” He walked at the boulders and placed his hands on it. Slowly they started to glow green, but it was faint. Faye joined him, and her fragile touched the barrels. She too started glowing green, but after silent minutes, both let go of the boulders.

“It’s no use…” Faye complained and sat down on the ground.

Derak looked confused at the boulders. “It was… as if… someone used his magic to keep the boulders down…” He pondered.

Faye looked up. She didn’t smile. She didn’t cry. Her eyes had something… devilish in it? No, Derak had seen that wrong. Just like those glowing bracelets. That had just been a reflection of the little light in that cave.

She then stood up. Her voice sounded firm and determined. “I guess we have no choice than to play this game.” She said and turned back. And then she released the most charming smile Derak had ever seen.

“You think the others are still alive?” Zach wondered and walked through the corridor that was enlightened by torches.

Nuria nodded. “Yes, I feel that.” She said determined.

“I hope you are right.” Zach looked down. “Mika, Moka, Derak… Kitt… we’ve been through so much together. Hehe. You know what is funny?” He then asked.

Nuria looked at him curious. “Funny?” She wondered.

Zach nodded his head. “Yeah. If you think about how this all began… I mean, I’ve met Kitt because she stole my backpack. And now we are more than best friends! And Mika and Moka… they tried to steal my invitation…”

“And Derak?” Nuria asked curious. “Did he steal something too?”

Zach nodded. “He tried to steal my girlfriend.” He smiled. “Are you really certain Kitt is alive?” Zach asked worried.

Nuria smiled again. “Yes, and I can feel Qing Yuan is with her.”

“Yuan?” Zach was astounded. “That’s odd.” Nuria was surprised. “You and me… we both share Fire. And then Qing Yuan and Kitt… they both share Water.”

“That must be coincidence.” Nuria decided and her ring glowed for a second. “And whoever tries to mess with us, shall meet our awesome firepower!”

“Yup.” Zach agreed. “Together we’ll make it.” And he took Nuria’s hand.

“Hades, look out!” Courage saw the shelf with books collapsing, almost falling on the top of the God of the Underworld. “Man, what is wrong with you? That is the 7th time you almost get an accident… and that was in the past 15 minutes!”

Ryu came closer. “Is there something wrong Sire?” He asked.

Hades stepped up and his eyes snapped open. “In the name of Cerberus!” He cursed. “How is that possible?!” Hades jumped up.

“Eh… what is possible?” Courage was confused. She had never seen her business partner like this before!

“Courage, sorry, but you’re on your own.” Hades turned at the door. “I have to protect the boarder or life and death!” With big passes he stepped at the door, dissolving before he would actually go through it.

Ryu gasped. “The boarder of life and death is in danger?” He asked. “Man, that sounds serious!”

Courage nodded. “Yeah… you think it will be bad for my shop? It hasn’t even opened yet!”

Ryu grabbed her arm and pulled her outside the shop. “You’re impossible!” He yelled. “This shop is frying the few brain cells you have left!”

“What? What?” Courage snapped back insulted.

“You are being very selfish and rude Courage!” Ryu snapped. “He’s your partner and all you think about is your shop!”

“I always knew she was an idiot…” Courage snapped back and saw a young man standing behind her.

“Oh, shut up Lesley!” Courage snapped at him.

“The name is Hades!” Lesley yelled. “And don’t you think I forgot the stunt you pulled last Halloween!! Next year…”

Courage yawned. “Oh, you’re still talking? Besides, did Hades already give you permission to borrow his name?”

Lesley paled out (as far as a dead guy can pale out anyway) and quickly left. “You know him?” Ryu asked.

Courage shrugged. “Dumb guy. Died twice.”

Confused Ryu decided not to care about it any longer. “Anyway, I wonder what could be the matter… boarder of life and death in trouble? What could it mean?”

“There is only 1 solution to that question!” Courage grinned.

“Going to the Oracle?”

“Heck no, even better! Let’s find Zachyboy and co!” Courage turned around. “Zachyboy equals trouble!”

“I sincerely doubt they caused this…”

“Mika, I see light!” Dolan took her hand and pulled her towards the light.

“Is it the end of the tunnel?” Mika asked. “Do you see Moka, do you see Derak, do you see…?” But then she gasped.

Carefully both entered the room. “Wow…” Dolan gasped and looked around.

“Amazing…” Mika gasped along and couldn’t help but stare.

The room was big; amazingly big, and each inch was covered by pure crystals. Shimmering from top to bottom, the room seemed even bigger because of the reflections. Mika stepped through the crystal chamber, not looking at her reflection. She should have. Then she would have noticed… it was only her reflection she could see...

But Mika was too amazed to notice anything. This crystal chamber, with crystal walls, crystal floors, crystal arcs, and crystal ornaments… The small spring that came from the wall even ended in a crystal bowl.

Mika walked at it, seeing her reflection in the crystal clear water. She placed her hand in it, and carefully sipped from it. “This is the best water ever!” Mika exclaimed.

“Must be because it’s not polluted…” Dolan mumbled.

“Do you want something too?” Mika asked.

Dolan shook his head. “No, I’m not thirsty.”

“You aren’t?” Mika wondered. “But you haven’t drank anything today yet!”

It looked like Dolan wanted to reply, but instead of that, his eyes became larger and he pointed behind Mika. “WATCH OUT!”

Mika turned around, and immediately had to jump away. A crystal snake dove at her, but missed her and crashed on the ground. Shards of crystal flew around, and cut Mika on various places.

“Get back!” Dolan yelled at the monster and placed his hands before him. Swirls of light gathered around his hands and when Dolan pulled his hands out if each other, a ball of light blasted against the crystal snake.

The snake creature roared, and raised his head, while Mika screamed of terror. “Darn!” Dolan cursed and grabbed Mika away. “I’m not strong enough!”

“What can we dooooooooo?” Mika wailed.

“We must fight together!” Dolan decided. “You can fight, can’t you?!”

Mika stopped crying. She released a last sniff, but then nodded. She placed her hands in attack mode: “SPLENDOUR SPARKS!” She yelled and the crystal snake got hit again.

It bashed against the wall, and in the room it suddenly rained crystals. “It’s not enough!” Dolan grabbed Mika’s hand again.

“Then what can we do?” Mika had no idea what to do.

“We must work TOGETHER.” Dolan ordered again. “Only then we can beat him!”

But, the crystal snake had decided not to wait any longer. He dove forward, splitting up the two Spirit Warriors. While his head went for Mika, the tail went for Dolan. Both jumped away in the nick of time, but the crystal snake had foreseen that! He quickly turned around and hit both Dolan and Mika.

Both young Spirit Warriors crashed against the wall and slit downwards. Dolan quickly crawled up, as if he hadn’t been hurt much, while Mika first coughed and then slowly crawled up. Again the snake came, and she reacted fast. “Cosmic Shield!” She yelled, and the crystal snake bashed back after hitting the shield.

“Well done!” Dolan complimented. “Now, we must attack, NOW!” Dolan placed his hands before him, and his ball of light formed out of the swirls once more.

Mika followed his example and gathered her energy. She danced around, and at the same time Dolan released his energy ball, Mika yelled: “CHARM CHAOS!”

Both attacks hit the crystal snake at the same time. They crystal snake hissed of agony; releasing a sound a normal snake would never produce, while cracks of light appeared all over his body. Light came out of the cracks, that grew larger and larger, until the crystal snake exploded. Shards flew through the cave, and Mika got blown backwards once more.

She shove over the crystal floor, and only dared to start breathing again when she stopped sliding. She looked at the crystal floor, with big eyes gazing at her reflection. For a second, she did not dare to move, until she heard Dolan’s voice. “That was amazing!”

Dolan ran at her and helped her up. “Is… is he gone?” She asked shaken.

Dolan nodded, and Mika noticed a small glow in the gem on his belt. But, Dolan raised her face by his finger and Mika did not see the glow growing and growing. “Mika, that was amazing!” Dolan went on. “I’ve never seen anyone fight like that before.”

“Eh… really?” Mika was still dazed.

Dolan nodded. “Truly amazing! Your technique… unseen! Awesome!”

Mika scratched behind her ear. “Eh… thank you… I guess.” She mumbled a bit.

“Don’t be so modest!” Dolan smiled and looked her in the eyes. “I’ve battled a lot, so I know what is amazing! And this was the most amazing technique I’ve ever seen! The way how you battled that crystal snake…”

“It was only a few minutes…” Mika was not used to this. Why did he keep on saying she had an awesome fighting technique? Others were way better than she was!

“It was enough for me.” Dolan smiled and released pearly white teeth. Mika couldn’t help but blushing. “It was amazing… you are amazing…”

Mika blushed even more. “I… eh… wah?” She gasped.

Dolan went with his hand through her hair. “You are the most gorgeous, amazing, pure person I’ve ever seen in my life Mika.” And carefully, he slowly bend over, closing his eyes. He pressed his lips against Mika’s, while the gem on his belt glowed brighter than before…
