Lady Ignis walked through the corridors. “Where could she be…” She pondered and looked around. At that moment something jumped on her. Lady Ignis almost fell on the ground when she saw a young girl jumping before her.

“Hey Auntie Ignis.” Sarah smiled.

Lady Ignis sighed. “Sarah, we’ve told you this several times: you are too big to pull these kinds of tricks.”

“Jeez, you sound like my mother!” Sarah folded her arms.

Lady Ignis smiled. “Why don’t you get ready for your birthday?”

Sarah shrugged. “Each year it’s the same thing.” She said. “You all give me something really nifty and then go off to do something important.”

Lady Ignis put her arms on her shoulder. “Well little Sparks, I have a feeling it’s going to be different this year! After all, you’ll become 16!”

“Whatever.” Sarah walked away.

Lady Ignis followed her with her eyes. ‘My, she has grown into a beautiful young woman…’ She thought.

The Guardians sang Happy Birthday to Sarah and gave her presents. “Mine first!” Lady Luna insisted and pushed herself in the front.

Sarah smiled. “You’re present always goes first.” She replied. “No, this year I’m going to pick some one else’s present first.”

“But mine is the coolest!”

Lady Ignis pushed her away. “You’re in your Lady form now, act like one!” Sulking Lady Luna sat down again.

Sarah opened her first present. “Aunt Kim, a new book!” She read the title. “Galaxy Secrets…”

Lady Kim nodded. “You already read so much books; it was hard to find one you hadn’t read yet.”

“Thank you.” Sarah thanked and opened Lady Aqua’s present. “A coral statue!”

“Again?” Lady Ignis asked. “Aqua, you gave her that last year too!”

“And the year before that.” Lady Luna added pouting.

Sarah giggled enchanting. “It doesn’t matter, I like it.” Lady Aqua stuck out her tongue to her sisters.

“Lady Luna’s present was next. “I hope you like it!” Inside the package was a necklace with a moon and stars.

“Aunt Luna, it is beautiful!”

Lady Luna looked confident. “Look, she likes mine most!”

“Not all presents have been given.” Lady Ignis gave a large, long package. “Happy 16th birthday Sparks!”

Curious Sarah opened the package. Inside it was a large sword! “Aunt Ignis… AMAZING!”

“You gave her a sword?!” Lady Gaia looked devastating at her sister.

Lady Ignis ignored her. “Try your powers on it.”

Sarah didn’t understand what Lady Ignis meant, but held the sword before her face. Then she focused on it. Little sparks came from her hands and suddenly a beam of light erupted from the sword!

“So now she has a very unhandy heavy new flashlight.” Lady Luna yawned bored. She still thought her present was the best one.

Lady Ignis ignored her. “This sword conducts your electricity powers and releases it. Now you don’t have to touch a machine any more to power it up! Now you have total control over all machines!” Lady Ignis grinned evilly. “Now you can be in your room and still shut down a certain computer from a certain some one!” Lady Kim folded her arms angry.

“Now it’s time for my gift.” Lady Gaia stood up. “Sarah, my gift to you is a wish. You can make one wish.”

Sarah’s face lit up. “A wish? Any wish at all?” Her mother nodded. “I want to go to the town!”

All Guardians became silent. “Sarah…” Lady Kim said. “You know what the rules are…”

“But…” Sarah tried. “I’ve never been to town before! I want to meet people!”

Lady Gaia kneeled before her. “Sarah, you know why we can’t let you. If they ever find out about us… People shouldn’t know about our existence. They fear what can be stronger than themselves.”

“But…”

“I’m sorry Sarah…”

Sarah jumped up and ran away. With tears in her eyes she slammed the door to her room shut. Crying she felt on her bed.

Lady Gaia wanted to follow her, but Lady Kim stopped her. “Let her be alone for a while…” She suggested. “It must be very hard for her to live in such a small world.”

“Isn’t there a way?” Lady Gaia asked.

“We made this decision when she came with us.” Lady Kim replied. “She can never meet the other humans. Ever.”

Someone knocked on the door. “Leave me alone!” Sarah sobbed.

“Sparks, it’s me, Ignis.” She heard.

“I said, leave me alone!” Sarah cried. “In which other languages do you want to here it?! Laat me met rust! Lasse mich in den ruhe! Je voudrais suis seule! Sanjalo Amaro-ka!” She wanted to recite many more languages from the universe, but Lady Ignis came in anyway. “Does no one respect my wishes any more?”

Lady Ignis sat down next to her. “Well, Kim will be pleased to find out you paid attention to her lessons.” She grinned. “Come on Sparks, you know why you can’t go.”

“It’s not fair!” Sarah replied. “You and the others come and go when you want and I’ve never been further away from home than 10 meters!”

“Oh Sparks…” Lady Ignis sighed. “If I knew a way to…”

Sarah looked up to her. “You would?!” Immediately she jumped up. “Then what are we waiting for?”

“Whoa, Sparks, relax!” Lady Ignis stepped back. “I said ‘if’.”

“And you know a way!” Sarah pointed. “I know you’ve sneaked out a zillion times!”

Lady Ignis couldn’t deny that. “I stopped with that.” She folded her arms.

Sarah folded her arms as well, but came closer. “So… it would be no problem at all if I told Aunt Kim about 2 days ago?”

Lady Ignis startled. “You wouldn’t!” She yelled.

Sarah looked at her fingers. “What is the problem, Aunt Ignis? Why don’t you try me?”

“This is blackmailing!” Lady Ignis folded her arms once again, being pissed off.

“Learned it from the best.” Sarah smiled. “What do you think will happen if I told them?”

“You are the spawn of Satan, you know that?” Lady Ignis growled. She was really annoyed, but then waved her hand. “Go change.”

In town 2 girls carefully looked around. “So this is how you look when you sneak out, Aunt Ignis?” Sarah carefully asked to her aunt.

“Hush.” The girl said. “I’m not your Aunt now. I’m now Ember.”

Sarah looked around. There was so much to see! She wandered off to a statue in the middle of the town. “Beautiful…” She gasped.

Then someone tucked on her arm. “Don’t ever sneak off again!” She hissed. “If I loose you Gaia would kill me!” She dragged Sarah to a club.

“ID’s girlies.” The guard said. “Only ages 18 and up!”

Ember growled when she dug in her bag. ‘Stupid rules…’ She said under her breath. ‘I’m over 40!’ Then she handed Sarah a card. “Here.” She said annoyed.

Sarah looked at the card. It had a photograph of her on it, but her birth date was all wrong! Sarah followed Ember inside, where she whispered. “But I’m not 18 yet!”

Ember waved her hand. “Only the coolest clubs are worth coming too. That ID rule is made so kids won’t drink bad stuff.”

”Like what?” Sarah got curious.

“Doesn’t matter, you’re NOT going to get it.” She turned to the bar. “A coke and an apple juice.” She ordered. After a while she got the drinks and handed one to Sarah. “Okay, drink, and stay at the bar.”

“Eh…” Sarah started.

Ember turned around. “You are going to stay HERE, where I can keep an eye on you.” Ember ordered. “If you get thirsty, you can order, but all you can order is apple juice or a soda! If I catch you drinking something else…”

And then Ember turned to the dance floor. Sarah felt a bit disappointed that she wasn’t allowed to do more than sit, but being among people was so new to her! It actually frightened her a bit. All those people yelling; trying to come above the music. All those people clutched on each other.

“Hey, you must be new!” Sarah looked aside and saw a boy. “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”

Sarah looked confused. “If I fell from heaven I would have been killed.” She replied. “It’s a long way down!”

“Are you sure you aren’t an angel?” The boy asked and came a bit closer.

Sarah held close to her drink. “Eh… pretty sure.”

“Well, then you must call an ambulance, because seeing you makes my heart stop!” He smiled and came a bit closer.

“You… look pretty alive to me…” Sarah stepped from her chair and did a step backwards. Who was that guy?! What did he want from her? And why was he saying such stupid things? They made no sense! But the guy came closer and closer.

Sarah actually wanted to run away, but to where? Where was her aunt? This guy was starting to scare her! “Hey Darrel, leave the girl alone!”

“And the knight arrives.” The guy who was called Darrel turned around. “Zash, this is none of your business.”

Zash walked at them. “Well, it will be my business if you keep on scaring the hell out of girls!”

“Fine, whatever.” And Darrel left.

Zash came closer to Sarah. “Are you okay?” He asked gently. “Don’t worry, not all guys are this jerky. I’m Zash…” He stretched his arm.

“Get back!” Both Sarah and Zash looked side.

“Au- eh… Ember?” Sarah almost said ‘Aunt Ignis’.

“Your older sister?” Zash asked.

Sarah didn’t knew well what to answer. “Eh… kinda…” She replied.

Ember took her arm. “Get lost boy.” She said to Zash. “I know what you are up to!”

“Huh, what?” Zash asked confused.

Ember stood before Sarah. “You asked your friend to harass her and the play the soft, nice sweet boy!”

“Huh?!” Zash didn’t know how to react to these accusations.

“Sarah, we are going home.” Ember decided and pulled the birthday girl along.

“But… but…” Zash tried, but Sarah and Ember disappeared in the crowd. “What just happened?”
