Derak stood up and spotted the Dream Fairies who tried to get away. "Well, what should we do with them?"
The past few days had been very eventful. Moka had almost been killed twice and Mika had to use all her powers to keep Kitt away from death. Zach held the sleeping Kitt in his arms, noticing how exhausted she was. He realised he didn't want to let her go any more, fearing he might loose her again.
Again all looked at the Dream Fairies; terribly wounded. It would be easy for them to just simply kill them. "No," Lady Kim decided. "We shall not kill a wounded or harmless creature."
Lady Ignis nodded. "Even though they must be stopped, there must be another way than to just kill them." Lady Ignis said. "I simply can't stab a creature that cannot fight back."
"We don't want your mercy!" Tsukiyo and Yuugao jumped up and aimed at the Ladies. If they had to die, it would be because of a fight. They powered up and the ball grew with the second.
Mika and Moka clutched together, being afraid of the big energy ball. What could stop them?
"Bubble Ball!" Lady Luna yelled.
A blinding light followed and when all looked again, no one was hurt. "That is so not fair!" Yuugao yelled, sealed in a great bubble. "Let us go!"
Tsukiyo folded her arms. "This is so humiliating!"
Lady Aqua walked at them. "That's the point."
"And what will you do now?" Derak asked. "I don't suggest sealing them away again. They'll use the same trick as they used on Mika and Kitt again."
Mika became pale and sweated. Slowly Lady Luna turned around. Her eyes were red... "Are you saying..." She started. "Mika and Kitt are responsible for all this?!" No one had ever seen the sweet air guardian this angry. "Are you saying Moka almost died because of those 2?!"
Mika threw herself at Lady Luna's feet. "I beg you for forgiveness!" She cried. "We didn't mean to! We never knew they were evil!"
Seeing Mika asking for forgiveness this way softened Lady Luna's heart and she sighed. "Oh Mika, get up." She laid a hand against her head. "I feel an headache coming up."
"Hey, don't forget about us!" Tsukiyo pounded her fists on the bubble's wall.
Lady Gaia agreed. "Yes, we still haven't decided what we will do with them."
"I have an idea." Lady Kim thought. "But I will need Ignis's help with it. Do you think you can guard these fairies for about an hour or 3?"
Lady Aqua nodded yes. "What are you going to do?"
"You'll see. Ignis, are you coming along?" Lady Kim asked her fiery sister and disappeared with them.
"It's time for us to disappear too." Lady Gaia said. "Let's go to Zach's place and get some rest."
At Zach's place, the Dream Fairies were sealed in Moka's room. They were being kept in their magical bubbles and both were really annoyed by that fact.
Kimi and Lady Gaia were in the garden to talk about what happened. She thought it was time for the little human girl to know the truth about the Guardians and Zach.
"I never knew Zach was in town." Kimi confessed. "One day I went to bed and the next day I suddenly knew Zach was in town and that I had to visit him."
"So the bakery-excuse was a lie?" Lady Gaia asked.
Kimi nodded. "Yes, I haven't been to the bakery this week yet. And that night I just wanted Zach to be with me so badly."
"Kimi, may I ask you something?" Lady Gaia asked. Kimi said it would be fine. "What are your feelings for Zach?"
Kimi was startled for the question but softened up easily. "It's not what you think." She started. "I do love Zach, but not the way people think. He was and is my best friend, that will never change." Kimi looked up. "I would do anything for him, but if you ask me if I would want to spend my life with him, the answer is no." She chuckled. "Zach sometimes feels like a little brother rather than a friend." She looked at the grass. "He grew up so much. He... he doesn't need me any more."
Lady Gaia lay her hand on Kimi's shoulder. "Zach will always need caring friends."
"I feel so responsible for him. And now... when the Dream Fairies." Kimi began to cry. "I was to weak to fight them!"
"It's okay." Lady Gaia comforted her. "I thank you for looking after him when he needed it."
"Zach has so many friends now." Kimi continued. "He has 4 friends to protect him, and then you.... I hate it that I have to share him now... but I'm also very happy how he grew up."
"Love is a weird thing." Lady Gaia smiled. "Even though you don't feel a soul-love, I can feel your love for him is strong."
"Not as strong as Kitt's...." Kimi smiled. "I'm so glad he found someone, someone special..."
Zach had brought Kitt to bed and he sat next to her in a chair. He just stared at her. "Zach, you want something to drink?" Derak whispered asking.
"No thanks." Zach replied.
Derak walked at him. "There won't happen anything to her any more. She's safe now." Derak realised what was going on. But Zach didn't reply any more and Derak thought it was better to leave him alone.
In the room next to it he spotted Mika sitting at Moka's bed. The longer he looked at them, the longer it felt as if he was missing something. "I wonder... how Vena is doing..." He mumbled and walked down the stairs.
Downstairs Lady Aqua and Lady Luna were in the living room. "You can sit down now." Lady Aqua said to Lady Luna. "They can't do anything right now."
"I know." Lady Luna stopped walking. "I just can't seem to think clear any more. My head hurts so much."
Lady Aqua sat down on the couch and patted next to her, telling Lady Luna to sit down. "You've been so busy the past few days. Don't feel responsible for what happened."
Lady Luna sat down and laid her head on Lady Aqua's lap. "I should have hidden their bottle better." She complained while Lady Aqua stroke her white hair. "This wouldn't have happened if I...."
"Hush, little one." Lady Aqua smiled. "Get some rest. Kim and Ignis will be here soon and then this will be all over." Lady Luna closed her tired eyes and fell asleep. For the past few days, she had hardly got some sleep.
Derak walked in the room. "How are they?" Lady Aqua asked quietly.
"The same as half an hour ago." Derak replied. "I'm going to fix them a drink. I know they said they didn't want to, but I don't think they will do anything soon."
Lady Aqua nodded smiling while Derak walked into the kitchen. "I'm so jealous at them." She whispered while she let her fingers play with the white hair of her tired soul sister. "At least they can love someone. We are doomed to stay alone." She remembered the day she became queen of her Under Water City. "Diver..." She sighed when she remembered the young merman that gave his life to safe an other. "Even if I could turn back time... even if I was never chosen... we would never meet." Lady Aqua looked at her sister. "I'm afraid to love someone again... I'll always loose them. I wished that I was able to love someone... to hold someone in my arms..."
Yuugao folded her arms and changed position. "This is so boring. Isn't there anything we could do?" She asked her sister, until she noticed her sister being in a trance. "What are you doing?" She hissed. Her sister did not reply and remained in her trance.
Lady Luna walked through her dream world. The days with the dream fairies had brought back the memories of her youth. She never had that dream again, where she looked for the answer of her wish: how to be a protector without having to fight.
Lady Luna saw a huge rose growing before her. "Rose..." She asked. "Can you tell me how to protect without having to fight?" The rose grew thorns and Lady Luna climbed them. She knew that the answer would be hidden inside the heart of the rose.
With great trouble she reached the gigantic petals and slowly pushed them away. The answer would be near! Lady Luna pushed away the last petal and was startled. "You!" She yelled.
Tsukiyo smiled evilly, while holding a sword. "Hello Guardian!" She laughed and pushed the sword in Lady Luna's stomach!
Screaming from agony, Lady Luna fell from the couch. She grabbed at her stomach. "Luna!" Lady Aqua yelled but saw nothing wounded. Yet, her sister was crawling at the ground, as if she had been wounded massively!
Derak ran into the room, hearing the screams of the Air Guardian. "What is going on?" He yelled but a big explosion blasted him against the wall. Dazed, he didn't know any more what was going on.
Lady Aqua jumped up, trying to see through the dust. 2 shades appeared before her. "This is not farewell Guardians!" She heard Tsukiyo laugh. "We shall return!"
"Stop!" Lady Aqua yelled but the Dream Fairies were gone. The dust filled her lunges and she coughed to get it out.
"Wind Whisper!" They heard and the dust was blown away by a small wind. Moka stood on the top of the stairs, accompanied by Zach, Mika and Kitt. In the doorway stood Lady Gaia and Kimi.
"What happened?" Zach asked shocked.
Mika ran downstairs. "Derak!" She yelled worried but Derak slapped away her hands.
"Don't worry about me!" He said biting on his lips. "You are too tired!"
"Lady Luna!" Moka ran at the Air Guardian. "What is going on?"
Lady Luna slowly opened her eyes. "Tsu... Tsukiyo...?" She asked.
Lady Aqua looked down. "They escaped." She only replied.
Lady Luna closed her eyes out of pain. "She attacked... me."
"How was that possible?" Lady Gaia asked.
Lady Luna sat up. It still felt like she had been stabbed in real life. "She attacked me in my dream." Was the answer.
"What should we do now?" Kimi asked.
Zach took the lead. "We should find them again!" He ran towards the door, followed by Mika, Derak, Kimi, Lady Gaia and Lady Aqua.
"Zach, wait for me!" Kitt yelled.
"No!" Zach ordered. "You stay here! You are too tired! I want you and Moka to take care of Lady Luna."
Kitt stood astounded in the hallway when the door got closed. "I... I'm grounded? Zach grounded me?!"
