Part 49: General’s Last Stand

A rustle of leaves were pushed away as they continued on. The General pushed his cap up to look around. “Keep your eyes open men.” He shouted to some soldiers around him, “They must be around here.” The soldiers begin searching the area around as the General shook his head.
“Stupid Queen, who made you the boss of me?” he grumbled as he kicked a rock, “I show her that we can defeat these puny people and she’ll see us as a strong elite force.”
The General grinned, “And maybe we can finally have our vacation.” He rubbed his hands happily as he ran off to help the other soldiers.
 

After fixing her crispy hair, Queen BlackHeart sat down on her throne. “Stupid General,” She grumbled, “Just kill those kids no matter what.”  At that moment, there was a knock at the door. “Yeah, who is it?” The Queen grumbled.

Princess Vena came in carrying some green carrots with her three soldiers. “Are you okay, Mom? What happened to you?”

Queen BlackHeart patted Princess Vena on the head, “Nothing dear, I just got burned after I was making your dinner.”

“Mom, you don’t know how to cook.” Princess Vena replied. She grabbed her mother’s hand, “Mom! What’s wrong? I know you’re hiding something and I want to know what it is.”

The Queen BlackHeart looked at her child, but turned her head away. “I’m sorry my child, I cannot tell you. Now go to your room!”

“No don’t give me that. I’m not little anymore.” Princess Vena yelled, “I DEMAND YOU TO TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON!”

Queen BlackHeart stared at her child’s angry face, “Okay! I’ll tell you!” She motioned to the three soldiers to leave them alone. She turned to Vena, ”I encountered the soldiers of DayWing. They all plan to defeat me so their evilness can take over our planet. I tried to defeat them and luckily destroyed most of them. Although, five people survived and they tried to kill me with their fire power which I luckily escaped before it burned my body.”

Princess Vena gasped, “So they are coming now to destroy us?”

“That’s right my child, but don’t worry, I ordered General to take care of them, so there is nothing to fret about.” She hugged Princess Vena, “Now go to your room so you’ll be safe there.”

After Princess Vena left, Queen BlackHeart looks at the plate of green carrots. “Yummy!” She said and happily ate them all up.
 

“Mom, Dad, don’t leave me!” Mika whispered as Moka carried her.

“Dude, that’s all she been saying. What is she so sad about?” Derak said.

Moka sighed, “I think it started a long time ago, when her parents were never found after her house was on fire. She’s been crying ever since this happen. She misses them ever since then.”

“That so sad of that to happen. No wonder she is so sad.” Kitt said staring at Mika sniffing.

“Let’s worry about that later.” Zach said, “We got to protect ourselves from getting killed.”

“Hey, can’t you feel sorry for Mika?” Kitt yelled at Zach, “She’s been crying for hours, try to make her stop.”

Suddenly a puff of smoke appeared in front of them. “Hey you guys? What have you been doing?”

“Oh no!” Derak said “Courage this isn’t the time.”

“Yes it is! Nothing is going to stop me from annoying you guys! Did I ever tell you I met those monsters on Serenay Street? I met Crunchy monster, Groovy, Jerry…”

“COURAGE! WILL YOU SHUT UP?” Moka yelled loudly.

 

From far away, the General with some soldiers trudged through the forest. “This is stupid! We haven’t found those kids for hours. We’ll never find them and the Queen will be furious. Where can those kids be?”

At that moment, they heard Moka’s voice echo from far away. “Bet that was them.” One of the soldiers said.

“That was 20 miles away, we can reach them soon.” Another one replied as he checked his radar.

“Let’s go then troops.” the General said, “We’re bound to find them.” They all rushed off to follow the voice.

“Then there was Large Lizard, George and Kurt, Furry, and then…” Courage talked on and on. Moka was getting madder.

“Courage, will you shut up, I’m not in a good mood.” Moka yelled again.

“Keep your voice down, Moka.” Zach said, “Queen BlackHeart might hear us and know where we are.”

Courage laughed, “Yeah listen to your friends, Moka, they’re way smarter than you are. You know you’re like Bernie the frog who gets very mad at anything and he always jump up and down like…”

“COURAGE!” Moka yelled again and tried to attack her, but Kitt, Zach, and Derak held him down. Mika watched her friends holding Moka down still crying. “Mom, Dad, please come back.”

Suddenly the bush behind Mika started to shake vigorously. Mika turned with her blue eyes. “Hello?” she said softly to the bush. At that moment, a hand from the bush grabbed Mika and tried to pull her in. “HELP!” she screamed at her friends.

“Mika!” Moka cried forgetting about his argument with Courage and went off to the bush. A bunch more soldiers came out blocking Moka.

“What the heck?” Zach cried when a bunch more soldiers popped up from behind some bushes.

“Ha! Looks like you’re in trouble.” Courage laugh, “I’ll see you later when you’re dead.” In a puff of smoke, Courage disappeared.

“You don’t suppose she should have tried to help us.” Zach sneered.

“Yeah like an evil villain would want to do that.” Derak said.

“Derak! Look out!” Kitt cried out to her friend. Derak turned around to see a bunch of soldiers heading towards him and they tackled him behind some bushes. Zach and Kitt tried to ran after him, but another set of soldiers tackled them down.

“So we meet again young children.” A voice replied came from a bunch of trees.

“General!” Zach and Kitt reply at the same time.

“Darn! I shouldn’t have made my voice more mysterious.” The voice cursed, “Anyway, I got you
kids right where I want you.”

“Oh no! This time we’re not going to fall for any tricks you play.” Zach cried and shot a fireball at a bunch of soldiers. Kitt followed with a water attack at another soldiers and they both charged towards General.

“Let’s finish this once and for all.” Zach cried grabbing Kitt’s hand, “Steaming Shower!” They cried as they hurled the attack towards General.

The attack exploded, but General was still standing. “What?” Kitt cried as General smacked both of them towards some trees.

“Ha! You all should have realised magic power doesn’t work on me as long as I have this vest on.” General replied as he pat on his suit. “Not only does it do that, but it makes me even more powerful.”

General used his strength to grab one of the trees and tried to smack Zach and Kitt. Zach dodged the attack and tried to punch General in the stomach, but General smacked him to the floor. Quickly Kitt tried a flying kick at General, but he was too strong so Kick fell backwards.

“At last,” General said as he lifted the tree above Kitt and Zach, “I can finally defeat you once and for all.”

“Typhoon Rage!” A voice cried as a tornado attacked General.

“Pretty Puff!” Another voice cried as a pink puff smashed the General. Moka and Mika appeared in front of Kitt and Zach.

“Yeah we did it!” Mika cheered as General was on the ground.

“No need to thank us.” Moka said to Zach as he helped him up.

“You idiots!” Kitt cried pushing Mika out of the way, “Don’t attack him using your magic spells! You’ll only make him stronger.”

“What?” Moka and Mika cried.

Suddenly the ground shook vigorously. A loud voice echo from high above them; there was a Giant!, “Ha fools! You think you’re so tough all together, well not anymore!” General laugh loudly from high above and tried to stomp them with his big foot.

“Soooooommmeeeeeoooneeeeee stttttoooopppp himmm!” Mika cried as she dodged the giant foot.

“I’ll handle this!” Zach said as he jumped towards General, “I’ll just rip that vest off him and then he won’t be powerful anymore.”

General wasn’t going to let that happen and grabbed Zach with his hands. “You think you can stop me but still I think not! I’ll defeat you all.”

“That’s what you think!” Moka and Mika said and tried to break Zach free. “Fools!” General said and whacked the two away.

“Gem Shaa…” Mika started to shout, but Moka stopped her.

“No don’t make him stronger again!”

“We got to save Zach though.” Mika cried.

A tree smashed the two causing them to be knocked out. “Look Out!” Kitt cried as Mika and Moka were about to hit a bush of thorns. She tried to rush after them, but General grabbed Kitt with his hand and squeezed the power out of her.

“Ha! Finally I defeat you all and maybe I can go on vacation.” General cried as he crushed Zach and Kitt.

“My…powers…draining…” Zach said struggling to break through.

“I can’t let this end after all we went through.” Kitt said, “Zach, I don’t how to say this, but I really…”

At that moment, some flashy thing zoomed by the thorny bush and caught Mika and Moka. “We’re saved!” They both cried as they fell to the ground.

The flashy thing quickly threw a boulder at General making him lose his grip on Zach and Kitt. “What the… who are you?” General cried.

When the dust cleared, a boy with green hair appeared. “Name’s Derak and I don’t like what you been doing with my friends. Now you must pay!” Derak said.

General gasped when he saw Derak. “Green hair?”

“Come on!” Derak said to Mika and Moka. Derak hopped onto General’s back, while Mika and Moka tried to free Zach and Kitt.

“Hey, get back here!” General growl as his giant hand tried to grab Mika and Moka.

“Quick, you guys go this way, we’ll go this way.” Kitt said grabbing Zach. General tried to grab the other four kids, but they were too fast for him to get.

Meanwhile, Derak was trying to rip the vest off General. “This isn’t working!” He growled, “Maybe I might have something that is sharp.” Derak reached his jacket pockets and took out something shiny. “Of course my knife, it’s been a while since I used it to duel Zach.” With a swift move, the knife tore a bit off the vest so that Derak could easy rip it off. “Thank you, my beauty!” Derak smiled as he tore the last strip of the vest off.

As General grabbed the four kids, he began to shrink smaller and smaller and then to his regular sizes. “What the?” General started, “No matter, I can still defeat you!”

General grabbed Mika, but Derak kicked him away. “Zako Y Chosen!” Zach cried firing his attack at General.

“Gaia Rose!” Derak cried sending his attack.

Bruised and hurt, General still wasn’t going to give up. “Must…not…give up!” General growled as he charged again at the five kids.

“ATTACK!” Zach cried as his friends all charged towards General. With the enough strength they had, they punched General together in the stomach. General choked as he felt the blood flowing in his mouth.

“No! I can’t die!” He took one last look at the kids staring at him. He saw Derak out of breath looking at him. “My princess,”

He thought to himself, “Your friend is a traitor to our planet.” He cursed as he felt his heart stopped and crashed to the floor.

“Phew!” Zach sighed, “I’m glad that’s over.”

“I agree!” Kitt replied as she helped Zach up from the ground.

“Did you all know that General never even hurt Derak, when he saw him?” Moka said looking at the dead General, “I wonder why he did that?”

“Yeah he kept looking at him for some strange reason.” Mika agreed, “Maybe he likes Derak or something?”

“Yeah right!” Kitt rolled her eyes, “Like that’s the reason.”

“Hey you guys!” Zach cried from the forest, “Come see this!” The group followed Zach’s lead and they saw the NightWing’s castle.

“Alright! We’re almost there!” Moka cried. “Let’s go then and maybe we can finally leave this place.” Kitt said. Everyone agreed and rushed off wasting no time.

 

In the throne room, one of the servants appeared before Queen BlackHeart to deliver some news. After hearing it, Queen BlackHeart flew into a rage. “No! They can’t be here so soon. Cursed General and his ridiculous men defeated by these small kids. Looks like I have to take care of this. I’ll defeat them no matter no what!”
She quickly called upon one of her servants. “Take me to my prisoner. I have some quick planning to do.”

All of a sudden, the blue sky became dark black. In a small village, Lyre and Vola watched as their friends did a dance. The group stopped when the sky became dark. Lyre looked up at the sky and became worried. “Everyone take shelter.” He cried and took Vola by the hand. “My dear, go find the women and children.” He looked at the sky, “It’s about to begin.”

In the plain valley, Ariës, her sister Reia, and brother, Kaim, looked up at the sky above them. “Ariës, is that what I think it is?” Reia asked her sister.

“I believe so.” Ariës replied hugging her sister and brother close to her.

“Are we going to die?” Kaim asked.

Ariës sighed, “ I hope not. Let’s hope our five friends can save our planet.”

From far away in the desert, Fanen look at the darken sky. “Good luck my friends. Bring back the peacefulness of our planet.”
