Part 43: King of Earth

“Ha Ha Ha!” Courage laughed as Tempus
kept on shouting at her.
“Stop it!” Tempus cried and the servants stopped what they are doing. “No not
you!” Tempus yelled and the servants continued their duties. It was getting
very annoying for the servants hearing his yells, that they all left him alone.
“Oh man, this is so much fun!” Courage laughed as she tried to make Tempus even madder so he would yell even more.
“Alright! Enough! I need some time to think of a way to defeat those brats before they get here. If they ruin this plan the queen is never going to forgive me.” Tempus walked around his throne as Courage floated above him.
“Why not do a surprise attack?” Courage asked and made a scary face at Tempus, who didn’t even notice her. Courage got impatient and started jumping around Tempus and poked him everywhere. Finally Tempus went away and returned carrying a black lock box in his hands. “You’re going to catch them with a lock box? Oh that’s a great idea!” Courage yawned, painting her nails gold and silver.
“It’s not the box that I’m talking about! It’s this that I wanted!” Tempus opened the box as something shiny appeared. Tempus took the shiny thing out as it glowed too brightly to see. “With this, I should be able to defeat them.” Tempus laughed as he held the shiny thing in the air.
At this time, Zach, Kitt, Mika, Moka, and Derak left the desert and continued their journey to NightWing’s castle. They came into a forest where it was all dark and only a little bit of light came through the leaves. “I wish we were there right now, so we can end this battle.” Mika cried, “My legs hurt and I’m running out of make-up!”
“We should be almost there.” Zach said checking his map, “According to the map, we should be there soon!”
“I can’t wait to defeat this Queen BlackHeart person and rescue Chibi Kim!” Derak cracked his knuckles and grinned. Suddenly something hit Derak on the head. “Huh?” Derak rubbed his head feeling the small bump on his head, “Did someone throw something at me?”
“Throw what?” Moka asked and suddenly felt something bonking his head. Another thing fell out of a tree and bopped Mika, Kitt, and Zach on the head.
“Ow!” Zach cried, “Who the heck is…”
Suddenly a bunch of kids jumped out from behind some bushes and tackled Zach, Kitt, Mika, Moka, and Derak to the ground. “Take that, you evil do-ers!” A boy with black spiky hair cried as he smashed Zach on the head.
“Ow! Hey I’m not evil!” Zach said trying to pull him off.
A young girl with blond hair and blue stripes jumped onto Kitt pulling at her hair, “You may be nice, but we know you’ll try to kill us all.”
Mika screamed after a bunch of boys covered her face in mud. “We aren’t evil for crying out loud! Now get off me!”
As a boy with purple hair cut Derak in the arm, and the flute came out of his black jacket landing on the floor. The boy with black spiky hair suddenly got off of Zach and headed towards the flute looking suspiciously at it. “Lyric….” The boy motioned the kids to get off them.
Zach helped Kitt up and Moka helped Mika and Derak up. “Hey what’s wrong with you kids? Don’t you have any manners?” Mika scowled, as she looked herself in the mirror, “Oh god, I’m so ugly!”
The spiky black hair boy bowed down to Derak, “My apologies sir! I have heard about you!”
Stunned, Derak stood with a puzzled look. “What is he talking about?” Kitt asked, being also puzzled.
The boy said something in his language to the kids and they all took Zach and his friends down behind some trees. They came to a small village place where a bunch of kids were playing around. The kids spotted the young boy and bowed down to him. They young boy grabbed Derak’s arm and brought him in front of the kids. The kids all looked up at Derak and gathered around him with surprised looks.
On the other side, Zach, Kitt, Mika, and Moka watched what was going to happen. “Man, I wonder why those kids are gathering around Derak for?” Kitt snarled.
“Maybe it has to do something with the flute that he had?” Moka said, “I remember that the boy was looking at it.”
The kids suddenly led Derak to a throne and place a crown on his head. The young boy suddenly yelled, “All rise to King Derak!”
The kids all cheered in happiness, while Zach and his friends were stunned. “Derak, a king!? No way!” Zach cried.
Kitt pinched her arm, “I must be dreaming”
Mika beamed with joy, “If he’s a king, he must have lots of jewellery, gold, diamonds…”
“Oh….” Moka cried and fainted.
In several minutes, Zach and his friends sat down with the kids for a big dinner for Derak. “I wonder what they’ll serve around here?” Mika wondered.
A bunch of girls came out with some platters and placed them in front of them. “What is this?” Kitt asked looking at the greenish grub.
“It’s Blossom Berry!” The young boy said, “Try it!”
They all took a bite of it. “Hey this isn’t bad!” Zach said, “It tastes very sweet.”
The young boy smiled, “Oh yeah, almost forgot, I’m Lyre!”
“I’m Zach! Next to me is Kitt and those two stuffing their faces are Mika and Moka.” Zach said.
“So, why is everyone gathering for Derak and why is he your king?” Kitt asked.
“I guess you never heard the news, did you?” Lyre said. Zach and Kitt shook their heads. “I’m Lyric’s other brother. When I heard Derak tried to save her, I was most happy for him that he tried to save my sister’s life. I have heard her in my dreams and she asked me that if I would ever see him again, to give him her regards.”
“Wow! And I thought Fanen was her only brother!” Mika laughed as she spit out chunks of the berry food.
“So why do you all live in here?” Moka asked.
“A long time ago, we were in another village where we lived all happily. Until one day, the NightWing came and destroyed our village; killing our parents. Luckily we escaped into the forest where we made this hideout here. We hope someday to kill the NightWing and live in peace again. That is why we are glad you and Derak are here. With you, the NightWing can never defeat us”
“Wow! That was very interesting!” Zach said as he watched the kids sat around Derak as he ate.
The night came and Zach and his friends started going to sleep. “This was very nice! I’m glad Derak is on our side!” Mika said, as she got comfy into one of the warm beds that the kids had prepared.
“Yeah!” Moka agreed fluffing his pillow. With in minutes, they all fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, Zach got up and went to get a drink of water. As he got out he heard some noises in a hut. He quickly peeked through the window and saw Lyre talking to someone with a girl beside him.
“Please don’t hurt her!” Lyre cried.
“Then you must kill them and bring them to me or else!” Tempus cried as he held the shiny thing.
“Fine! I’ll bring them to you tomorrow.”
“Don’t forget! Hey, cut it out!” Tempus growled.
Courage laughed, “You are so funny when you get angry.”
“Shut up!” Tempus disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Zach watched in a shock, “I knew something wasn’t right! I'd better warn Derak.”
The next morning, the kids greeted Derak with happy smiling and gathered around him.
“Man, it feels great to be king!” Derak said to Kitt, “Hey, maybe you should be queen!”
“Yeah right!” Kitt said.
Derak sat on his throne and the kids bow to him. Lyre came up to him and held a jewel to him. “Your majesty, I have brought you a gift from us all to show our appreciation for what you did. Also because you tried to help save my sister.”
“Oooo! It’s so pretty, but I wish it was pink!” Mika cried. Derak reached out his hand to take the crystal from Lyre.
Back into the castle, a servant came in and brought the news to Tempus. “I hope this plan works better then last time!” Courage said yawning.
“Don’t worry, I’m prepared this time!” Tempus said.
When Tempus arrived, Derak, Zach, Mika, Moka, and Kitt were laid on the ground. “There! I did as you told Tempus! Now give her back.” Lyre cried.
“Electric Cage!” Tempus cried as he grabbed Zach and his friends into cages, “You’ll think I’ll fall for that trick again!”
Tempus uses his attacks shocking Lyre. A young girl came up to Lyre. “Lyre!”
“Vola!”
Tempus laughed, “Ha! Now that I have those brats, nothing can stop me!”
Suddenly Tempus heard laughter behind him. “Coming at ya!” Zach yelled and bashed his fist into Tempus.
Tempus gasped, “What, but I thought I had you!”
“Look again!” Kitt cried.
Tempus turned to his cages and saw dummies of them in there. Courage laughed “Looks like they tricked you again!”
Tempus got mad, “Your traitor! Lighting Blast!”
His attack headed toward Lyre, but suddenly Derak grabbed him out of the way. “Get everyone out of here safely” Derak said to Vola and gave her Lyre.
“Ocean Explosion!” Kitt cried and attacked Tempus with her attack, but he knocked the power back towards her.
“My turn!” Moka said, “Thunder Wings!”
“Not this time!” Tempus said and brought out his shiny thing that knocked the power towards Moka.
“We can’t defeat him, if he keeps reflecting the power away!” Mika cried.
“He must be doing it with that shiny thing he has!” Zach said, “If someone can distract him, we can knock that thing away from him!”
“Electric Cage!” Tempus shouted and captured Zach and his friends, “Finally! I shouldn’t be wrong this time!”
Suddenly a bunch of berries smashed Tempus into his head. “Keep throwing!” Lyre cried as a bunch of kids threw the berries at Tempus.
“Argggghhh!” Tempus cried loosing control of the shiny thing and it crashed into shards one the floor.
The electric cages suddenly disappeared and Zach and his friends were free. “You wanted to destroy these kids and that ain’t cool!” Derak cried, “Rumbling Voice!” The attack headed toward Tempus and smashed him. Tempus quickly disappeared damaged and injured. The kids all cheered at Derak and lifted him high into the air.
“Hurray for King Derak!” The kids cried and Zach and his friends smiled.
“I guess he really is a good king!” Kitt said smiling.
The next morning, Derak shook hands with all the kids. “I’m sorry for all the trouble I have caused you all!” Lyre said.
“Hey it’s okay!” Zach said, “We’re all cool!”
Lyre shook hands with Derak, “I hope we’ll see you again King Derak!”
Derak smiled, “I’ll be back someday! I promise!”
As the group headed off, the kids cheered and looked forward to seeing their king again.
“You know Derak,” Kitt said, “You really are a good king to all those kids!”
“Heh... Thanks Kitt!” Derak said.
“I hate to say it, but I agree with her!” Zach said smiling, “You really are!”
Tempus cursed as he smashed tons of hourglasses onto the floor and on the wall. “Someone is in a bad mood!” Courage taunted as she brushed her hair.
“Cursed those kids! I’ll get them soon!”
Suddenly a voice called out, “Tempus! Come see me!”
Tempus looked nervously as he went down the hallway.
“Good Luck!” Courage laughed as she watched Tempus facing his doom.
End of episode 43
