Episode 25: The faith of a chosen one

Zach walked smiling towards the counter. The woman behind it smiled. "Congratulations Zach." She smiled. "You made it to the finals!"

"I know!" Zach sighed.

Moka smacked him on the back. "Yup, you made it fare and square. Now, this was you dream, so let's see who your opponent is."

"You'll kick his butt by a landslide!" Mika cheered.

The woman behind the counter smiled. "I'll look it up for you. Let me see. Ehm... ah, there it is! She has made it through all rounds also."

Zach smirked. "Doesn't matter, she will never win from me."

"Here it is!" A screen popped on and showed 2 pictures. "Your next match is against Kitty Ocean. Good luck." But when she looked, she saw Zach had fainted.

In their cabin, Moka and Mika waved some air at him. "Zachy, Zachy wake up!" Mika said. "Come on! Be a man!"

Zach's eyes opened slowly. "Man, what a dream." But then he saw Moka and Mika. "Wait a minute, if your part wasn't a dream, than that must mean...."

The door opened slowly and Kitt walked in. Zach jumped up. For a moment, they just looked at each other.

"Let's leave." Moka suggested.

Kitt did a step forward. "Zach, I'm...." She started.

Zach raised his hands. "No! I don't want to hear anything else but the reason why."

"Zach, you must understand that it wasn't easy for me too."

"I said, only the reason!" He turned around. "I can't fight against you."

Kitt thought for a moment. If Zach wouldn't fight, then that would mean he would destroy his dream. She got an idea. "Thank god!" She exclaimed happily.

"Pardon me?" Zach asked.

Kitt smiled. "It saves me a lot of trouble. I knew you wouldn't fight against me, so if you don't show up tomorrow, I'll be the winner!"

"What?!"

Kitt laughed as hard as she could. "You are such a loser Zach!" And she walked away.

Zach boiled. How could she do that to him? He thought she was his friend! Zach stormed at his room and slammed the door close.

After a while, his mother knocked on the door. "Zach?" She carefully asked. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Leave me alone!" Zach yelled.

At the other side of the cabin, Kitt lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. "What a mess." She sighed.

The door opened. Her mother looked inside. "Kitty? Honey, do you...?" She asked.

Kitt nodded. She sat down and her mother sat down next to her. Immediately, Kitt threw herself in her mothers arms and cried. "Mom, what should I do?" She asked sniffing. "Why haven't I told him sooner? Why did I ever decide to travel with him?"

"I don't know." Her mother answered. "Maybe because you wanted to protect him."

"From who?" Kitt sniffed.

"Maybe from yourself." The answer was. "But I can't solve anything for you now."

"I know." Kitt sighed. "But Zach has to fight, no matter what!"

Zach looked at the door. He had come to the arena, but he wasn't sure why? Did he want to let Kitt see he wasn't a coward? That he would fight her? He wasn't sure himself.

The door opened and Zach had to gather all his courage to just walk in. He saw Kitt at the other side walking to him. The hand-shaking! He forgot! Finalists have to shake hands! He walked at Kitt.

Kitt saw his nervous face. 'Well,' she thought, 'let's show him what I've got.' She took his hand. "So you loser decided to come after all?" She sneered.

"What?" Zach was astounded.

"Don't you still get it? Oi, you always were the stupid one." Kitt grinned. "It was a trick you fool! It was a trick so that I would know all you weak points. And then people say I'm a sore actress."

"I don't believe you!" Zach said.

Kitt laughed. "Come on! You are a fool! It was all a trick, the dances, the kiss, it was all fake! You are an idiot and the whole world knows it now."

"You are lying!" Zach exclaimed and bashed his fist against her face. Kitt slammed down, but remained conscious. She swallowed a bit. Zach wanted to help her up. "Kitt, I'm so-" But Kitt slapped against his arm.

In the mean while, the public didn't knew what was happening. "What is happening?" One asked. "I came for a fight, not this yapping stuff."

Star smashed him on the head. "Hey you idiot! You are talking about my sis. Can't you see they are in love?"

On the field, on the full moon image, Kitt was still screaming at Zach. "You are a loser, an idiot! You can't fight a girl! Are you so blind? I hate you! I hate you!" She wanted to kick him. "And if you don't fight, I will!"

But before Kitt could actually hit Zach, the doors slammed open en Derak stormed inside with his bike. Without stopping, he grabbed Kitt and drove away again. Zach tried to stop him, but was blocked by his gang. "Kitt!" He screamed.

"You aren't going anywhere loser." One member said. "You didn't thought we were going away so easily, did you? Our boss always gets what he wants."

"Not this time." Zach heard. He turned around and saw the famous Miss Young standing there. In her face was something familiar.

"Oh my god!" Zach exclaimed. "Lady Kim?!"

"Go after her Zach." She ordered.

"But how...?" Zach asked and at the same time a bike fell of his bike, without anyone touching him. Zach jumped on the bike and the other bikers tried to follow him. However, their bikes suddenly didn't work any more!

"What the...?" One cursed, but suddenly Miss Young took off her glasses. "Thunder Rain!" She yelled and the gang got blinded.

At the same time, Zach tried to follow Derak, but he had never driven a motor before! But there they were, a far away point at the horizon.

Kitt slammed her fists against Derak as often as she could, but Derak kept on driving. "Stop that!" He demanded. "Do you want to get an accident?"

"Already had one!" She yelled. "When I met you!" She smashed her fist one more time against him and Derak lost balance of his bike. Both crashed against the floor. When Derak looked up, he saw Kitt lying unconscious. "You own fault." She growled and crawled at her.

Suddenly, a motor stopped before him. Zach grabbed Derak and punched him in the face. His eyes were red with fire.

"What are you going to do?" Derak smiled. "Kill me?" He laughed. "You can't kill me. It's not in you."

Zach growled. "No, indeed, it's not in me, but I can help you to get on that track." He kicked him again. "How on earth could I have believed you would leave so easily?"

Derak crawled back up. "Don't ask me, I'm not the loser you are." He wanted to kick him, but Zach blocked him. Derak knew he had to make something up. He shot towards Zach, but dove next to him before he could react. He lifted Kitt. "If you'll hurt me, you'll hurt her too. And I know that isn't what you want."

Zach felt helpless. Derak was right. Even after what Kitt had told him, he just couldn't hurt her. Then he suddenly saw something. It was a second necklace! He knew which one it was, it was the same little silver heart he had given her on the starship. It now all became clear to Zach. Kitt lied! She did it all to make him angry, so that he would fight. She liked him! She liked him a lot!

Zach was now more angry than ever. "I'm warning you!" He yelled. "You let my girlfriend go!"

"Girlfriend?" Derak asked. "C'mon, do you really think...?"

"Ultimate Zako Y Chosen!" Zach screamed and released his most powerful attack. It bashed against Derak who flew into the air.

"Not fair!" Derak yelled. "I was so close!"

Zach ran forward and managed to catch Kitt. "Kitt?" He asked and saw relieved that she was coming by again. "Kitt! I'm so glad you are safe!" He hugged her firmly. "I don't care if I lose the tournament, you are more important to me."

Kitt looked silent and heard what he was saying. "No..." She mumbled. "You must fight."

"But, I can't...."

Kitt smiled. "You can, and it will be the best fight ever."

After Zach had brought Kitt to the MC, and Kitt recovered, both stood in the arena again. Kitt looked healthy again and ready to fight. "I'll kick your butt this time!" She smiled.

"Don't be so sure about that." Zach said back.

The bell rang, the finals of the Serenay Moon Tournament, Full Moon, had begun! Kitt stormed at Zach, and Zach stormed at Kitt. Both knew each other's weaknesses and strong points, so neither both had an advantage.

Kitt dove when Zach tried to kick her. Zach blocked Kitt's punch. Kitt tackled Zach and Zach smashed on the floor. When Kitt tried to hurt him again (in a friendly way!) Zach rolled away. He kicked Kitt in the back. "Nice move." She complimented. "So you did pay attention to the lessons I gave you."

"I could say I've learned it from the best." Zach dove on top of Kitt. "But that would be me."

Kitt knocked Zach away. "Oh yeah, now you'll see a true master at work!" She kicked him hard, but Zach stood still. Kitt jumped at him, but Zach managed to kick her away. Kitt smashed on the floor, really, really hard!

"Kitt, are you okay?" He asked concerned.

Kitt crawled back up. "Don't worry about me." She smashed him in the face. "Reminds me of our first meeting, but this time without a bridge!" Zach kicked her again.

Zach kicked Kitt again and again and Kitt became more and more tired. Kitt tried to hit him again, but Zach blocked her move and hit her one more time.

Kitt lay on the floor. "Wow." She puffed. "I... I can't believe it." She heard the referee counting. She had 2 options. One was that she stood up again and tried to fight a lost battle, the other was that she could stay on the floor, while she still was able to admit her defeat.

Zach was astounded. Kitt stayed on the floor. He ran at her. 5-6... "Kitt, are you all right?" He asked. 8-9...10!

"Never been better." Kitt jumped up and hugged. "Congratulations champion!" The crowd cheered. This was the best math ever.

At a stage, Miss Young/ Lady Kim gave Kitt a medal. "Congratulations Kitt." She complimented. "I'll see you later."

Kitt didn't knew what she mend, but didn't have the time to ask it. Suddenly, Miss Young gave Kitt another medal. "You do the honours." She smiled.

Kitt smiled and gave Zach the medal. "It's a wonderful medal." He smiled. "But I've got the best prize ever next to me!"

Kitt smacked him upside his head. "Of course." She smirked. "You can overreact!"

On the starship home, Zach and his family were in a special suite. He had invited Kitt and her family to join him. Starleen was whining again: "You were such an idiot!" She exclaimed. "You deliberately lost."

Kitt ignored her and sat down next to Zach. "Well champion, was this your best fight ever or not?"

Zach smiled. "It was the best one ever." Kitt lay against him. "Of course, there was no question about who would win."

Kitt shot up. "What?! Even if you think you are great, there is always someone who is better!"

"Yup!" Zach laughed. "And I'm better than you!"

"What?" Kitt yelled. "No way! I was just tired because of Derak!"

"You are a sore looser." Zach teased. "You can't handle the fact that I'm better!"

"It just wasn't my day, okay?" Kitt exclaimed. "I demand a second chance, right here, right now!"
