Episode 13: What lies underneath the
surface

Zach and Kitt were transported to their next test. They looked around, seeing nothing but water! Zach didn't knew where the surface was, and there seemed to be no bottom also! He started to feel he was running out of air. But where to go? He looked at Kitt, who seemed calm. He wanted air, wanted to breath! He didn't want to die!
Kitt saw that Zach was panicking and grabbed him. She started to kiss him. Zach was startled, this wasn't the time to kiss! However, a magical aura enclosed him and Zach could suddenly breath. He now saw that Kitt had the same aura.
"Wow... Kitt...." He started.
Kitt whipped her mouth. "Don't worry, I didn't like it!"
"If you weren't here, I would have drowned." He swam to Kitt. "Anyway, we should get to the test. I guess this is the test from Chibi Aqua."
"Really?" Kitt asked sarcastically. "What gave it away?" She looked around. "I wonder where she is."
It was silent. Suddenly, a shade appeared and a huge Manta showed itself. On his back, was a small girl.
"Well, it was about time you showed up!" Zach said. "I've had enough of this nonsense. Let's get it over with. We've had fighting, not fighting and playing games. What's next?"
"Come with me." The girl giggled and patted next to her. "Chibi Dream will bring us."
"Chibi Dream?" Kitt gazed at the huge Manta. "Really Chibi!" Zach and Kitt sat down next to Chibi Aqua. "And for the last time: STOP GIGGLING!"
Chibi Aqua giggled and Kitt got more frustrated. But, Chibi Dream was already on his way. While they held on, they moved through the blue ocean and seemed to get deeper. After a while, there was total darkness, but suddenly they saw a little light. As they came closer, the light grew and made place for a under water city!
Chibi Aqua flew in and Chibi Dream stopped. Zach and Kitt jumped of his back and Chibi Aqua followed them.
Zach immediately got surrounded by sweet little mermaids. He seemed to enjoy it.
"Wow, those two-leggers look cute!" A mermaid smiled.
"He's so handsome."
Kitt grabbed Zach. "Do you want me to break the aura?" She growled. Zach shook his head. "Then stop hanging around with those girly girls! We have to finish this test and go to Serenay Moon!"
A mermaid brushed her hair with a shell. "You are just jealous."
Kitt grabbed her. "Say that again, if you dare!"
Chibi Aqua giggled. "Follow me."
Chibi Aqua led Kitt and Zach (who still was surrounded by mermaids) to an arena. She swam to a throne and bubbles surrounded her. Her outfit changed and suddenly, a real Lady with aqua hair and green eyes stood there.
"Hail Lady Aqua!" Kitt and Zach heard and all the merpeople bowed.
Zach was confused. "What? No round one?" He asked.
Lady Aqua sat down. "No, this test will be hard enough from itself."
"Well, tell me what it is and we'll do it." Kitt answered.
Lady Aqua giggled. "We? Kitty dear, this time Zach will have to do it alone!" She waved her arm and an undercurrent blew Zach into the arena. Kitt got blown into a chair next to Lady Aqua.
Lady Aqua stood up. "Zach, you see this key?" She showed a golden key. "This key opens the portal to my sister Chibi Kim. Your test is that you'll have to get it...."
"That doesn't sound too difficult." Zach noticed.
"From him...." Lady Aqua pointed behind Zach.
Zach turned around and there was a huge octopus! Zach became pale; this creature was huge. Lady Aqua threw the key at the octopus and sat down.
Kitt couldn't speak for minutes. She felt the power of this creature, but also his anger. She bit on his nails. "He won't make it!" She exclaimed. "Lady Aqua, let me help him!"
Lady Aqua didn't reply and raised her arm. The battle had begun.
Zach looked at the 8 arms. "Well, better get started." He sighed and rolled up his sleeves. "Zako Y Chosen!" He yelled, but nothing happened. "What's wrong?" He asked, did he lost his powers?
Lady Aqua explained it. "Your powers are mostly of the type fire, and therefore you can't use it here."
Zach laughed, but not because he was happy. "I'm doomed." He peeped.
The octopus attacked and Zach dove away. Being in the water was so much different from being on the land. He was slower, but he could jump further.
Zach took a piece of spiky coral and picked the octopus.
At the same time, Kitt felt something stinging in her arm.
Miraculously, Zach managed to stay away from the 8 long arms. He even managed to hurt the creature! He was proudly, but then saw Kitt was crawling from agony!
He wanted to swam to Kitt, but the octopus blocked his way. "Lady Aqua, what's wrong with Kitt?" He yelled instead.
"It's her connection with the water. She feels what the water creatures feel." Lady Aqua answered. "Hurt the octopus and Kitt will get hurt."
"Ai...." Zach whispered. He threw away the spike. He had to get the key (which was in one of his arms) without hurting him. Maybe ticking would help? But the octopus didn't allow that and grabbed Zach.
Finally recovered, Kitt saw what happened. No way Zach could make it. "Lady Aqua...." She begged. "Please let me help him. Why don't you allow me to help him?"
Lady Aqua closed her eyes. "You'll only hurt yourself. In this case, you power works against you."
"I don't care!" Kitt yelled. "Zach needs me. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't help him?"
Lady Aqua looked at her. "I've... I've never met twin soul. I guess the reason why I didn't want you to be in the arena is because I didn't want you to get hurt." Lady Aqua released the spell. "Go, go and help your friend." Kitt quickly swam away. "Be careful!" Lady Aqua yelled.
Zach saw Kitt coming. "Get out of here!" He shouted. "You'll only hurt yourself!"
"Don't think for me if you can't think for yourself." Kitt stood before the octopus. "Let him go or you'll have to face me too!"
As an answer, the octopus spit some ink. Growling, Kitt whipped it away. "Okay." She growled. "Now you've asked for it." Kitt raised her arm and she seemed to glow. "Trident Power Wave!" Kitt yelled. Her clothes seemed to change into a blue outfit and suddenly a trident appeared in her hand.
Kitt waved with the trident and pointed at the octopus. An enormous undercurrent shot at the octopus and hit the arm Zach was trapped in.
Kitt felt the pain, but tried to forget it. Zach quickly swam to Kitt.
"Are you all right?" He asked.
"I'll live, don't worry about that." Kitt murmured. "Are you ready?"
"Wherefore?" Zach asked.
"Ocean Explosion!" Kitt yelled and the new undercurrent shot Zach toward the octopus. "Trident Power Wave!" Kitt yelled again and aimed at the other side.
While the left side of the octopus got hit, Zach managed to grab the key that was in one if his right arms.
"Got it!" He yelled proudly, but the undercurrent didn't stop! Zach bashed against the wall.
Zach whined about his pain and immediately a few mermaids swam at him and comforted him.
"Oh, you poor thing." One said and kissed him on his forehead.
Kitt changed back into her old self and saw what happened. Even though they were under water, Kitt easily boiled. She walked at Zach and grabbed him.
"Okay Aqua, we've passed. Heal us and then we'll off from this place." Kitt angry demanded.
"But I like it here!" Zach whined.
"I'll burst your bubble if you dare to say that again!"
Zach gave the key to Lady Aqua and sadly he looked at the cute mermaids. He growled a bit, but when Kitt looked at him he smiled as if he was happy to leave. Lady Aqua opened the portal and Kitt and Zach swam into it.
At the other side of the palace, 2 people appeared. They gasped for air and Lady Aqua gave them an aura so that they could breath.
"Good luck my sister." Lady Aqua heard the voice of one of her sisters. "Maybe you are WEAK enough so that they could beat you...."
Lady Aqua looked at Mika and Moka and giggled.
In the mean while, Kitt and Zach were in a place they didn't recognize. "Where are we?" Kitt asked.
"You are beyond time." They heard and Chibi Kim appeared. "I'm Chibi Kim, small horizon. I'm the boarder and the guardian of the spirit. The horizon is between things and so am I and that is where you are. You are between worlds."
"Gasp." Zach replied. "Humph, you aren't that gigglish as your sisters. So, what's the test?"
